British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has revealed the all-new Tiger 1200 adventure motorcycle. The Triumph Tiger 1200 is offered in two guises — GT and Rally.

The Triumph Tiger 1200 is powered by an all-new 1,160cc triple cylinder engine with a unique t-plane triple crank with an uneven firing order. This t-plane crank with its uneven firing order, states Triumph, gives the engine enhanced low down tractability and responsiveness, along with exciting and engaging mid-range to top-end response along with improved acceleration.

The 1,160cc triple-cylinder engine of the Triumph Tiger 1200 produces 148bhp at 9,000rpm and 130Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The new engine produces 9bhp and 8Nm of peak torque than its predecessor. Triumph states that the new engine produces nearly 14bhp more than its closest shaft-driven rival. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Triumph Tiger 1200 sports a tubular steel frame with forged aluminium outriggers and a bolt-on aluminium rear subframe. The Tiger 1200 also sports a twin sided "Tri-Link" aluminium swingarm with twin aluminium torque arms.

The front end of the Tiger 1200 features Showa 49mm USD forks with semi-active damping. At the rear, the adventure bike features a Showa monoshock with semi-active damping and automatic electronic preload adjustment. The GT variants feature 200mm travel while the Rally models get 220mm travel.

Braking duties on the all-new Triumph Tiger 1200 are handled by twin 320mm disc brakes with Brembo M4.30 Stylema monoblock radial callipers up front. At the rear, the Tiger 1200 sports a 282mm disc brake with a Brembo single-piston calliper.

The Triumph Tiger 1200 GT models sport cast aluminium wheels - 19-inch (front) and 18-inch (rear). The wheels are shod with Metzeler Tourance tyres for better road handling that measure 120/70R19 (front) and 150/70R18 (rear). The Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally features spoked wheels — 21-inch up front and 18-inch at the rear. The spoked wheels are shod with Metzeler Karoo Street tyres which are apt for dual purpose usage and measure 90/90-21 (front) and 150/70R18 (rear).

The Triumph Tiger 1200 measures between 2,245mm and 2,290mmin length depending on the model chosen. The bike is 849mm wide and its height varies between 1,436mm and 1,497mm for the GT models and 1,487mm and 1,547mm for the Rally variants. The wheelbase of the Tiger 1200 is 1,560mm long. The adjustable seat height varies between 850mm and 870mm in the GT models and 87mm and 895mm in the Rally variants of the Tiger 1200.

The Triumph Tiger 1200 is offered in two guises — GT & Rally and a total of five variants. The base Tiger 1200 GT is only offered in Snowdonia White, while the 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer offer the base white colour along with Sapphire Black and Lucerne Blue. The 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer are offered in the regular Black and White colour options as the GT along with an exclusive Matt Khaki colourway.

The Triumph Tiger 1200 GT, 1200 GT Pro & 1200 Rally are all offered with 20-litre fuel tanks. The Explorer variants of both the GT and Rally expand the fuel tank by 50 per cent to 30-litres. The Explorer variants of the Tiger 1200 also feature Triumph's new Blind Spot Radar system which was developed in collaboration with Continental. The system allows for safety features like Blind Spot Assist and Lane Change Assist.

All Tiger 1200 models feature a 7-inch TFT display with connectivity options like the ability to take calls, turn-by-turn navigation and GoPro Assist enabled by the My Triumph Connectivity System which is fitted as standard to all Tiger 1200 models. There are also six riding modes on offer which adjust throttle response, ABS, traction control and suspension settings for maximum rider control in all riding conditions.

The Triumph Tiger 1200 is another masterstroke from the British brand. It looks to be a formidable weapon for those looking to push their bikes to the limit when off the beaten path and we expect it to arrive with a starting price tag of around Rs 18 lakhs in the first quarter of 2022.
