Royal Enfield Is Expected To launch The Updated Himalayan By The End Of January 2021
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is one of the best selling off-roaders from the company. The Himalayan is yet to receive a minor model year update. However, the test prototype of the updated Himalayan has been spotted testing earlier in the country.
However, according to the latest report by Autocar India, Royal Enfield is expected to launch the updated Himalayan towards the end of January 2021. As per the leaked image, that appears to be a studio shot for the company's website reveals the new colour schemes. The motorcycle could feature a white and silver or a white and matte black paint scheme. Moreover, the Himalayan is also expected to feature a new pine green shade for 2021.
In the previous spy shots, the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan was spotted equipped with the Tripper Navigation feature that debuted on the recently launched Meteor. The Tripper Navigation is a smartphone-enabled turn-by-turn navigation system.
The suspension is through a standard set of 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock setup at the rear. The motorcycle offers an impressive amount of suspension travel as well; 200mm at the front and 180mm at the rear. Braking is handled by 300mm discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.
Powering the Himalayan is the same BS6-compliant 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The unit produces 24bhp of power and 32Nm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Some time ago, Royal Enfield hiked the prices of its BS6-compliant Himalayan adventure-tourer motorcycle in India. The 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 motorcycle is now offered with a starting price of Rs 1.91 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi), after receiving a hike of Rs 1,836.
Thoughts About The Updated Royal Enfield Himalayan
The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 continues to remain under the Rs 2 lakh price bracket, making it an attractive offering in the entry-level ADV-Tourer segment. The Himalayan takes on rivals such as the BMW G 310 GS and KTM 390 Adventure. We are sure that the updated model will get a lot of traction in the market once launched.
