Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 On-Road Biased Model Design Leaked: Could It Be The Scram?

Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch a new model, which is an on-road biased version of the Himalayan ADV. The new motorcycle could be called the Scram and some of its features have been leaked via a clay model image.

From the clay model, we can spot several changes on the Scram over the Himalayan. This includes a smaller front wheel, a missing front frame, windscreen and the raised front mudguard.

Instead of the front frame, the motorcycle features a tank shroud that will have the 411 badging. The rear luggage rack found on the Himalayan is also replaced with a new traditional grabrail and finally, the side-cover is expected to feature a slight design change over the ADV motorcycle.

Speaking about another significant change would be the addition of a new instrument cluster on the Scram. The new unit is expected to carry the large dial from the Himalayan's unit along with the Tripper navigation placed next to it. The tachometer and the compass might not be carried over from the Himalayan's unit.

Speaking about Tripper navigation, this technology uses a small TFT colour display to provide turn-by-turn navigation once paired with the smartphone via a mobile application. The Tripper navigation can be activated by pairing a smartphone to the Royal Enfield application available for both Android or iOS users.

The outgoing Himalayan is powered by a single-cylinder SOHC, air/oil-cooled, fuel-injected 411cc engine. The upcoming on-road version of the motorcycle is also expected to feature the same engine. The 411cc unit produces a maximum of 24.3bhp at 6500rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm between 4000rpm and 4500rpm; paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Regarding accessories, the upcoming Scram could be offered with the brand's Make-It-Yours personalization program. However, the new motorcycle could receive a few on-road biased accessories to support the bike's application.

All of these are still speculations. Royal Enfield is yet to announce the news of the new on-road biased Himalayan a.k.a Scram's launch in the Indian market. The company could look at launching the new motorcycle in the coming months. If launched, the new on-road version of the Himalayan could be priced below the adventure-touring version of the motorcycle.
