Royal Enfield Classic 650 Spied Testing In India: Everything You Need To Know
Royal Enfield will be launching a powerful cruiser motorcycle that will be using the brand's parallel-twin 650cc engine that currently powered the Interceptor and the 650 GT. The bobber-style cruiser motorcycle will be based on the KX bobber concept that was showcased at EICMA back in 2018.
According to the latest report by Rushlane, the Classic 650 has been spotted testing once again. This time around, the new-gen classic 350 was also spotted parked beside the 650 cruiser. For the year 2021, RE has plans of launching a new motorcycle every 4 months in India.
As seen in the images, both the test mules share quite a lot in common in terms of design elements such as circular headlamps, tear-drop fuel tank, split seats, black alloy wheels and front and rear discs.
Other features include curved fenders at both ends, tail lights and turn-signal indicators and a tall adjustable windscreen to add to the cruiser looks of the motorcycle. Some of the other features that are revealed from the spy images include a (USD) UpSide-Down front fork, a single pod instrument cluster, a crash protector, large profile tyres; among others.
The USD fork setup will be the brand's first implementation on its motorcycle. Fans have been waiting for RE to use the setup for a long time. It improves the upcoming bobber's handling characteristics by a substantial margin.
The engine and the transmission setup on the upcoming cruiser motorcycle are expected to be similar to the ones powering the current 650 twins in the brand's portfolio. However, the cruiser's could feature liquid cooling for enhanced performance. The 649cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin-cylinder engine produce 47bhp of power and a peak torque of 52Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, with slipper-clutch assisted. We expect the power and torque figures to remain similar on the upcoming motorcycle.
Thoughts About The New Royal Enfield Classic 650
The Classic variant of Royal Enfield has been on the highest-selling motorcycles from the brand. The new Classic 650 will be coming in place of the Classic 500, which got discontinued. Once launched, the Classic 650 will gain a lot of traction in the Indian market.
