Pablo Quintanilla Wins The 2021 Rallye Du Maroc

Pablo Quintanilla wins the 2021 Rallye du Maroc (Rally of Morocco). To win the rally, the Monster Energy Honda rider, Pablo Quintanilla bettered all his rivals to claim victory in both stage and rally.

Pablo Quintanilla last tasted the champagne from the top step of the podium back in 2019, and the 2021 Rally du Maroc is the Chile-based rider's first race victory since then.

Moreover, it is also his first victory after he joined the new outfit five-month back and started riding the new Honda CRF 450 RALLY.

"The forecast in Misano is looking hot so we know that we will have to work to improve out feeling to be closer to our Silverstone performance than our performance in Aragon. We have been making improvements in this area, but we need to keep on working to show our potential and the potential of the bike. I am also looking forward to the test, two days of just riding will be a big help because right now one of our biggest problems is the lack of testing we have had this year. Let's make the most of it." said Pablo Quintanilla.

The home team, Hero MotoSports also completed the Rallye du Maroc on a high by finishing top-10 in the overall rankings, thanks to the win at the Prologue stage by Joaquim Rodrigues.

Whereas the other Monster Energy Honda rider, Ricky Brabec was unable to find the same momentum as his teammate and narrowly missed the podium despite finishing as a runner-up on the final day of the Rallye du Maroc.

"I'm happy to finish another rally, it's been good training for the Dakar. I'm also very excited for the Honda team to be on top of the podium. Unfortunately, we couldn't have two Honda riders on the final podium. It takes a lot of guts to win a stage and it takes a lot of courage to open a stage: only three riders have opened this rally, and I think we opened the most difficult stages. I'm really looking forward to the Dakar and this was just training. I made a couple of mistakes and missed out on the podium on the last day, but at least we'll get home safe and sound and get back to training to be ready for the Dakar." Ricky Brabec was quoted saying in a press release.

Overall, almost everyone covered a race distance of 1500 km during the rally despite Stage 5 being cut short by almost 124 kms to make the new race distance 166 kms.

As the Rallye du Maroc is completed, almost all the teams are now looking forward to the 44th Dakar Rally that is scheduled to start on January 2 2022, from Ha'il, Saudi Arabia.

Thoughts About The Rallye Du Maroc

Rallye du Maroc is one of the toughest rallies in the world as riders not only have to battle the harsh terrains but they also have to manage the extreme climatic conditions. The rally is also a preparation ground for many riders and teams for the Dakar Rally that will follow shortly afterwards.
