One-Moto Launches Electa Electric Scooter In India: Company Claims 100kmph Top Speed And 150 Kms Range
British EV maker One-Moto recently made its entry into the budding yet highly competitive Indian EV market with two products.
Now, One-Moto has launched the Electa electric scooter in India and it is the third electric vehicle from the British marque to make its way into the country.
Speaking about the One-Moto Electa, it is a high-speed premium electric scooter and it is powered by a 45 Ah lithium-ion battery pack and a reasonably powerful 5.36bhp DC hub motor, which is more than adequate for city runabouts.
According to One-Moto, the One-Moto Electa can reach a top speed of 100kmph and do 150kms on a single charge. This is a remarkable achievement for a company that entered the Indian EV segment just a month ago.
Apart from that, the British company claims that the One-Moto Electa can charge from 0 per cent to 100 per cent in just 4 hours.
Moreover, the One-Moto comes with a removable battery pack for added convenience and could potentially be compatible with battery swapping technology in future as well.
Speaking on the event, Shubhankar Chaudhry, CEO of One-Moto India, said, "India is welcoming EV adoption, and we are focused on providing quality products to catalyse the same. The idea is to launch high-speed quality premium products, and begin distribution from the key metro cities."
One-Moto is an electric scooter with a Retro theme and the company describes the scooter as a "modern classic". At a glance, one could easily mistake the One-Moto Electa for a Vespa scooter, thanks to its round headlights and overall retro theme.
The One-Moto Electa comes with some modern touches as well such as LED headlamps, LED taillamps, LED turn indicators, geo-fencing, Bluetooth connectivity, IoT, maintenance alerts and many more.
From the pictures released by One-Moto, the Electa electric scooter even features front and rear disc brakes. However, the company has not revealed any specifications regarding the brakes.
However, the company has opted to use an analogue instrument console instead of a more modern digital unit.
According to the British brand, the deliveries for the One-Moto Electa will commence from February 2022 onwards. The brand also revealed the prices and the One-Moto Electa costs Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
"We don't just want to serve Indian customers with our scooters but give them the complete end-to-end experience they have been getting while running ICE engine vehicles. We aim at tightening our foothold in the hot markets in the country including - Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Punjab in the next six months. On the basis of the response, and local government policies only we will enter the new financial year," He further added.
Thoughts About One-Moto Electa
The One-Moto Electa comes with a solid 100kmph top speed and 150kms of claimed range. While these figures can attract any potential EV buyer in the country, at 1.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) the One-Moto Electa is priced way beyond the affordability spectrum of most Indian consumers
