Suzuki Motorcycles have globally unveiled their 2021 Hayabusa superbike. The new (2021) Suzuki Hayabusa comes with a host of updates, both in terms of cosmetic changes as well as being packed with a number of new features and electronics.
Starting off with the design, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa continues to be an evolution of the same iconic styling as its predecessors. However, while the overall silhouette has been kept similar, the superbike now features sharper lines and a new front fascia, with a much more aggressive design.
The superbike now features LED lights all around, this includes the headlamps and taillights. The turn indicators at the front are integrated with the position lamps, placed on the outer side of the front air intake.
The fairing on the Hayabusa also features a much sharper contour, giving it a more sporty and aggressive appeal. The 2021 version of the superbike also features the large dual chrome-plated exhaust pipes, adding to the commanding nature of the Hayabusa.
In terms of features, the 2021 version of the Suzuki Hayabusa comes packed with a host of equipment and electronic rider aids. There is also a new TFT display on the otherwise analogue instrument cluster, which along with the new switchgear, allows the rider to navigate between the different rider aid options.
Some of the standard electronic aids on offer on the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa: three power modes, launch control, cruise control, cornering ABS, hill-hold control, new six-axis IMU and three levels of engine braking. The motorcycle also comes with ten levels each of traction control and anti-wheelie control. The new Hayabusa also features the brand's S.I.R.S technology (Suzuki Intelligent Ride System).
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa, however, carries forward the same aluminium frame, gives the motorcycle similar dimensions as its previous models. The motorcycle also carries forward the same 1340cc in-line four-cylinder engine. Having said that the unit is now compliant with the latest Euro-5 emissions. The updated engine also comes with lighter pistons, new connecting rods and other internal components.
The unit produces 190bhp (7bhp less than the previous version) and 150Nm of peak torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also comes with bi-directional quick-shifter and ride-by-wire technologies as standard.
The motorcycle weighs in at 265kg (kerb weight) and comes with a20-litre fuel tank capacity, a seat height of 800mm and a ground clearance of 125mm. The motorcycle is said to have a top speed of 290km/h.
The suspension on the motorcycle is via inverted forks at the front and a mono-shock setup at the rear. Braking is via a twin-disc setup by Brembo Stylema at the front and a single disc at the rear from Nissin.
The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa has been priced in the US at $18,599 (equivalent to Rs 13.55 lakh), before taxes. The superbike is expected to be introduced in the Indian market as well, although there is no timeline mentioned as of now.
