2021 Suzuki Hayabusa Launched In India At Rs 16.40 Lakh: The Falcon Is Back To Rule The Streets

Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched the much-awaited new Hayabusa in the country. The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa features a price tag of Rs 16.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Bookings for the motorcycle are now open across India with deliveries said to begin soon.

The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is offered in three colour options: Gloss Sparkly Black/Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Matte Sword Silver/Candy Daring Red and Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Matte Stellar Blue.

The company has already unveiled the motorcycle globally ahead of its launch in India. The new (2021) Suzuki Hayabusa has undergone several changes. This includes design changes, engine update, feature additions and updated electronics package.

The company has made changes to the motorcycle after 13 years in production. The third-generation Hayabusa has evolved in design rather than a drastic change. Its overall silhouette remains unchanged on the new motorcycle.

However, there are a few changes including an all-new front fascia that makes for an aggressive look of the motorcycle. The new Hayabusa now features all-around LED lighting. The turn-indicators are now placed on the top of the fairing next to the air dam.

The fairing has also undergone design revision and now look a lot sleeker. It also features chrome accents at the end of the front fairing. The looks of the motorcycle are further enhanced by dual-chrome-finished exhausts and a new set of taillamps.

Coming to the heart of the motorcycle, the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is now powered by a liquid-cooled, 1,340cc, inline four-cylinder engine. The updated engine now features lighter pistons, new connecting rods and other re-engineered internal components.

It now produces a maximum of 187.7bhp at 9,700rpm and a peak torque of 150Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox along with a slip and assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter.

According to the company, the new Superbike can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds and continue to reach a top speed of 299kmph.

The new Hayabusa also receives an updated electronics package. This includes Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha with three factories pre-sets and three user-definable modes, three power modes, Launch Control System with three modes, and Cruise Control System.

The safety features on the motorcycle include a switchable traction control system with 10 levels of adjustment, an Anti-lift Control System, an Active Speed Limiter, Low RPM Assist, a Combined Brake System, Motion Track Brake System, Slope Dependent Control System, and Hill Hold Control System.

All the above features and electronics rider aids can be controlled with the help of a new TFT display placed in the centre of the instrument binnacle. The new display along with the new switchgear cube allows the rider to navigate between the different rider aid options.

The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa, however, carries forward the same aluminium frame, gives the motorcycle similar dimensions as its previous models. Suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by a fully adjustable USD fork at the front and a mono-shock unit at the rear, both of which are sourced from KYB.

Braking on the new Supersport motorcycle is done via a dual 320mm floating disc brake at the front with Brembo Stylema 4-pot calliper at the front, and a single 260mm disc brake with Nissin single-pot calliper at the rear.

The bike sits on 17-inch alloy wheels with 120/70 section and 190/50 section tyres at the front and the rear, respectively. The motorcycle features a 20-litre fuel tank and tips the scale at 264kg (wet).
