2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Launched In India Starting At Rs 2.75 Lakh
Chennai-based, two-wheeler manufacturer, Royal Enfield has updated its flagship motorcycles sold in the country. The Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles have been updated for the 2021 Model Year.

Both motorcycles feature a couple of new paint schemes and a new price tag. Pricing for the 2021 Interceptor 650 starts at Rs 2.75 lakh. The motorcycle is also available with a custom paint scheme, which is priced at Rs 2.83 lakh. The top-spec Chrome paint scheme of the Interceptor 650 is priced at Rs 2.97 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (Delhi).

Moving to the 2021 Continental GT 650, the cafe-racer motorcycle also receives a couple of new colour schemes. The new motorcycle retails at a starting price of Rs 2.91 lakh. The Continental GT 650 is also available in a custom paint scheme, which is priced at Rs 2.99 lakh. However, the top-spec Mister Clean colour scheme retails at Rs 3.13 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (Delhi).

Apart from the new colour schemes, both motorcycles are part of the brand's Make-it-Yours customization programme. Customers can choose to add genuine modifications to their motorcycles right from the factory. This includes various seating shapes, touring mirrors, flyscreens and sump guards; among others.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650 are powered by the same 649cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin-cylinder engine. It produces a peak power of 47bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 52Nm at 5,250rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, with slipper-clutch assisted.

The suspension duties on both the motorcycles are handled by 41mm forks at the front and twin-gas charged shocks at the rear with 5-step adjust for pre-load damping. The braking on the motorcycle is done through a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS offered as standard. Both motorcycles feature 18-inch spoked wheels.

The design on both motorcycles remains unchanged as well. This includes the same round-shaped headlamps, taillamps, twin-exhaust setup, a single-piece flat seat and more. The Interceptor 650 offers a more relaxed and upright riding position, however, the Continental GT 650 with its long tank design and clip-on handlebars features a more aggressive riding position.

Thoughts About The 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 Launched In India
Royal Enfield has added more colour schemes to the 2021MY of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The company has also provided an option for customers to customize their motorcycle. However, the Tripper Navigation feature, which was expected on the new motorcycles has not been added.
