2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan Price & Changes Leaked Ahead Of Expected Launch This Month

Royal Enfield will soon update its adventure-touring motorcycle, the Himalayan with a couple of changes in the Indian market. The company is expected to launch the 2021 Himalayan sometime by the end of this month. Ahead of its launch, some of its changes have been leaked revealing new details.

The images shared on a YouTube video by Bullet Guru, showcases the 2021 Himalayan snapped from the brand's 'Make-it-Yours' customization programme. Speaking about the heart of the matter, the new pricing of 2021 Himalayan showcased in the video is Rs 2.51 lakh, ex-showroom.

However, the motorcycles show in the images along with the new price is having the brand's pannier setup. As a result, it could include the cost of the panniers indicated in the price above. Whether the prices for 2021 Himalayan will go up by Rs 20,000 remains to be seen.

The video also reveals the new colours that will be added to the motorcycle's line-up. This includes Pine Green, Mirage Silver and Granite Black. With the addition of new colours, some of the paint schemes offered on the outgoing model have been discontinued. However, Lake Blue, Gravel Grey and Rock Red colours have been retained.

These new paint schemes will also feature seats finished in a brown colour scheme. Speaking about the seats of 2021 Himalayan, the company has made the rider seat a little longer than the ones seen on the outgoing model. They will also use high-density foam to offer enhanced comfort to the rider and the pillion.

Another significant change made to the ADV motorcycle includes the design revision of front and rear luggage carriers. The new motorcycle will have a shorter carrier at the front to avoid contact with the rider's knee. At the rear, the luggage rack now features a flat metal plate for better load carrying. It could also be shorter in length as compared to the outgoing model.

The windscreen on the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan seems to be taller than the outgoing model. Also, the company is likely to offer a smoked windscreen option with the new motorcycle in the customization programme, which can be seen clearly from the leaked pictures.

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, the 2021 Himalayan will be offered with the Tripper navigation system which will continue to be a separate unit placed next to the instrument cluster. It is expected to be the same system as featured on the Meteor 350 cruiser motorcycle.

It uses a small TFT colour display to provide turn-by-turn navigation once paired with the smartphone via a mobile application. The Tripper navigation can be activated by pairing a smartphone to the Royal Enfield application available for both Android or iOS users.

Rest of the motorcycle's hardware and features including the engine remains to be the same as the outgoing model. he Himalayan is powered by a single-cylinder SOHC, air/oil-cooled, fuel-injected 411cc engine. It produces a maximum of 24.3bhp at 6500rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm between 4000rpm and 4500rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
