New Ducati Multistrada V2 And V2 S Revealed
Ducati Motor Company recently revealed the new Multistrada V2 and V2 S. The Multistrada V2 will soon replace the Multistrada 950 that is currently on sale, and it will be the Italian brand's latest adventure-sport motorcycle.
The upcoming Ducati Multistrada V2 will be offered in two variants and will use a BS6 compliant 937cc Testastretta 11-degree liquid-cooled V-twin engine. The engine is an over-square engine with 94mm bore and 67.5mm stroke.
According to Ducati, this engine is capable of converting petrol and oxygen into 111.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 98 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm.
Apart from that, the new engine is significantly lighter than the previous one and it is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Speaking about transmission, quick-shifter is an optional extra on the Ducati Multistrada V2, whereas it comes standard with the Ducati Multistrada V2 S.
Moreover, the new Ducati Multistrada V2 comes loaded with features such as cornering ABS, Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), 8-level Ducati Traction Control, four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro), fully adjustable manual suspension, and a few more.
The Ducati V2 S on the other hand comes with even more advanced features such as semi-active electronic suspension with Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS), Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down (DQS), cruise control, and a full-LED headlight with Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL).
For even more rider convenience, the Ducati V2 S also comes with a hands-free system, high-res 5-inch colour TFT dashboard, and backlit handlebar controls.
Despite using different suspensions, both the new Ducati Multistrada V2 and V2 S come with 170 mm of suspension travel at the front and rear.
Coming to the design of the new Ducati Multistrada V2, the new motorcycle retains more than just the silhouette of its predecessor. However, there are minor differences all over the new motorcycle.
Like its predecessor, the new Ducati Multistrada V2 comes with a semi-fairing, tall-windscreen, twin-pod headlights, a large fuel tank, split seats and side slung exhaust. Other similarities include the use of steel trellis frame, double-sided aluminium swingarm, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels.
However, there are few differences such as lower seat height and 10mm lower footpegs that have been borrowed from the bigger Ducati Multistrada V4.
The new Ducati Multistrada V2 comes in just one colour option - Ducati Red with gloss black frame and black rims. Whereas the Ducati Multistrada V2 S is available in the same colour scheme with red tags on the wheels to differentiate and also in Street Grey with GP Red wheels.
Thoughts About The New Ducati Multistrada V2 & V2 S
The Ducati Multistrada 950 has always been a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable long-distance touring motorcycle, the new Multistrada V2 and V2 S improve on that strengths.
Apart from that, the new vehicle also comes with a whole array of electronics suites to make long-distance riding a breeze.
