Kawasaki Bikes Prices Increased Again This Year In India: New Price List Revealed

Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Kawasaki, has announced a price hike for the second time this year in the Indian market. The company will be increasing the prices of its entire line-up starting from April 1, 2021.

Booking made on/before March 31, 2021, does not attract the price increase. All models except the Ninja 300 and the ZX-10R have been affected by the latest price increase issued by the company. Some other models such as the KX, KLX, Z H2, and Z H2 SE have also not been affected by the price increase.

The company is yet to make an official statement on the reason behind the price increase. However, judging by the recent price increase activity in the country, we believe it might because of the increased input manufacturing costs.

Along with the announcement of price increase, the company has also revealed the new pricelist of all motorcycles. Based on the new prices the popular naked motorcycle Z650 has received a price hike of Rs 14,000 and now retails at Rs 6.18 lakh, ex-showroom.

Other motorcycles in the 650cc segment, the Ninja 650 and the Versys 650 have also been affected by the price increase. Both motorcycle now receives a price hike of Rs 15,000 and Rs 14,000, respectively. The Ninja 650 now costs Rs 6.54 lakh, while the Versys 650 is priced at Rs 7.08 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).

The company also offers the Vulcan S cruiser and the W800 retro roadster motorcycles in the country. Both models received a price hike of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. After the price hike, the Vulcan S costs Rs 6.04 lakh, while the W800 costs Rs 7.19 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).

Moving to the near litre-class and the litre-class motorcycles, the Z900 currently retails at Rs 8.19 lakh, ex-showroom. The price of the motorcycle has been increased by Rs 15,000 and will cost Rs 8.34 lakh, ex-showroom, from April 1, 2021.

The brand's litre-class motorcycle the Versys 1000 and the Ninja 1000SX have received the steepest price hike of Rs 25,000. Both motorcycles now retail at Rs 11.44 lakh and Rs 11.29 lakh, respectively. All prices mentioned in the article are ex-showroom (India).

Thoughts About The Kawasaki Bikes Price Hike Announced In India

Kawasaki is the latest two-wheeler manufacturer to announce the price hike of its motorcycles in the Indian market. With the latest price hike, the brand's entry-level naked motorcycle offering, the Z650 becomes pricer by a significant margin. Also, the Z650 will be getting a new rival in the form of Triumph Trident 660, which is expected to be priced similar.
