Honda Patents The PCX Electric Scooter In India: Here Are All The Details!
Honda recently filed the PCX electric scooter for trademark rights in India. The patent was filed last month and we are expecting that the electric scooter could make it to the Indian shores sometime soon. The Honda PCX scooter was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, and then the electric version of the same was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The scooter was also showcased at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.
Speaking a little about the scooter, the overall design of the electric scooter is futuristic with a sporty stance. Mechanically, the PCX electric scooter comes with twin battery packs positioned underneath the seat. We expect the EV to be powered by a swingarm-mounted AC motor that will churn out 4.2 kW at 5,500rpm and 18Nm of peak torque. The Li-ion battery pack enables a claimed riding range of 41 km on a single charge.
The Honda PCX electric concept is equipped with alloy wheels, a digital instrument cluster and a large windscreen mounted on the front apron. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks upfront and dual shock absorbers at the rear.
Other prominent features of the Honda PCX electric concept include an apron-mounted dual-headlamp setup, LED tail lamp, sporty step-up seat, 220 mm front and rear disc brakes, USB-C port, remote smart key, single-channel ABS and many more.
In other recent Honda news, the company recently increased the prices of the H'Ness CB350 motorcycle in the country. The company has issued a price hike for the second time since its launch last year. At the time of launch, the prices for the CB350 started at Rs 1.85 lakh, ex-showroom (Gurugram).
The H'ness-CB350 is available in two variants - DLX & DLX Pro. In the latest price hike, the motorcycle's prices have increased by Rs 4,000 on each variant. After the price hike, the Honda H'Ness CB350 now retails at a starting price of Rs 1.90 lakh.
Thoughts About The Honda PCX Electric Scooter
The Honda PCX electric scooter concept is based on the PCX 150 conventional scooter which is sold in several foreign markets. The futuristic design and sporty stance make the PCX an interesting electric concept. We are looking forward to Honda to get this EV soon to the Indian market.
