2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 India Launch On August 27: Expected Price, Features, Engine & More

Royal Enfield will launch the much-awaited 2021 Classic 350 in India on August 27 at 1:00 PM. Some dealers have already begun accepting unofficial bookings for the upcoming next generation of the Classic 350 motorcycle.

2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Launching On August 27

The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 will be heavily influenced by the Meteor 350's mechanicals. Based on spy images surfaced online, the new Classic 350's design will feature subtle changes only.

The new Classic 350 is part of the brand's J-platform motorcycle line-up and will be borrowing most of its mechanicals from the Meteor 350 cruiser. This includes chassis, engine, features and the Tripper Navigation; among others.

A test mule of the new Classic 350 was recently spotted without the navigation unit which points to the new Classic 350 being available in multiple variants.

Design & Features

As mentioned earlier, the new Classic 350 will look similar to the outgoing model of the motorcycle. However, there will be some subtle changes to the new motorcycle. This includes:

  • New round-shaped headlamp
  • LED DRLs
  • New switchgear
  • Restyled badging

Other changes that are expected include:

  • Contoured fuel tank
  • Single-piece handlebar
  • Split seats
  • LED tail-lamp
  • Chrome-finished exhaust

Regarding the features, as mentioned earlier, the biggest addition would be the Tripper Navigation on the new Classic 350. Based on the spy images surfaced earlier, the navigation display is neatly integrated onto the headlamp cowl and is placed next to the main instrument cluster.

The Tripper navigation uses a small TFT colour display to provide turn-by-turn navigation once paired with the smartphone via a mobile application. The Tripper navigation can be activated by pairing a smartphone to the Royal Enfield application available for both Android or iOS users.

Another significant upgrade that is expected on the motorcycle is its instrument cluster. The new-gen motorcycle is expected to receive an all-new semi-digital unit with a small display for ODO meter, trip meters, fuel gauge and more.

Engine & Gearbox

The next-generation Classic 350 will feature an all-new engine and chassis setup based on the unit from the Meteor 350. The new setup is expected to offer lesser noise and vibrations levels on the new-gen motorcycle, with the engine offering more refinement.

The Meteor's 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit produces a maximum of 20.2bhp at 6100rpm and a peak torque 27Nm at 4000rpm; paired with a five-speed gearbox. The power and torque figures could be the same for the new Classic 350 as well.

Regarding chassis, the new Classic will use a sturdier double downtube cradle chassis. This aids to better handling of the upcoming motorcycle.

Other mechanicals such as the suspension and the brakes on the new motorcycle could be carried over from the outgoing Classic 350. Additionally, the motorcycle could be offered in both alloy and spoked wheels depending on the variant.

Expected Price, Colours & Variants

The Classic 350 recently received a price hike and now retails between Rs 1.79 lakh and Rs 2.03 lakh. With all the new changes, the new Classic 350 could receive a price hike of around Rs 30,000.

The new motorcycle could be offered in single and dual-channel ABS with disc/drum and disc/disc brake setups, respectively. The variants could be further differentiated by the colour scheme and features of the new motorcycle. The special Signal edition of the motorcycle is expected to be carried forward as well.

Another major update on the new Classic 350 will be the Make-It-Yours personalize program offered by Royal Enfield. This allows customers to customize their motorcycles right from the factory via dealerships or on the brand's website. We can expect the company to offer a ton of accessories for the new Classic 350.

Thoughts About The New Royal Enfield Classic 350 India Launch On August 31
