TVS Apache RTR 180 BS6 Price Revealed: Rs 6,700 More Expensive Than The BS4 Model
Chennai based TVS Motor Company has just about launched the TVS Apache RTR 180 at Rs 1.01 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The new, BS6 models cost Rs 6,700 more than the models that feature BS4 compliant engines. The price tag also makes its just Rs 7,500 more expensive than the Apache RTR 160 BS6 models.
TVS hasn't given the Apache RTR 180 BS6 model any exterior updates. The motorcycle was last updated during 2018 when the company changed the seat materials, and offered a new back-lit speedometer, a redesigned crash guard, and a new paint scheme.
The motorcycle features a 177.4cc single cylinder, two valve, air-cooled engine that produces 16.56 brake horsepower (16.37bhp on the BS4 compliant engines) and 15.5Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The engine sits on Double Cradle SynchroSTIFF chassis which helps with superior handling. The motorcycle features telescopic forks at the front, and Monotube Inverted Gas-filled shock absorbers at the rear.
Braking duties are handled by a 270mm petal style disc at the front, and a 200mm disc brake at the rear. The Apache RTR 180 BS6 models feature switchable dual-channel ABS with (RLP) Rear Wheel Lift-off Protection - a first in its segment.
Priced at Rs 1.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the TVS Apache RTR BS6 model competes with the Suzuki Gixxer, and the Yamaha FZ V3.0.
In related news, TVS Motor Company has suspended production at all its manufacturing facilities in India, and in Indonesia until further notice. The suspension is in light of the current Covid-19 pandemic and a partial outbreak across the world.
TVS has also extended their Work From Home policies to relevant employees. In addition TVS is working closely with their dealers and supply chains and has extended support to its entire network.
The company has also assured employees that it would protect jobs and salaries during this Coronavirus pandemic, and has urged its employees to stay safe during this testing time. TVS has also offered support to its employees as they transition to new workplace arrangements.
Thoughts About TVS Announcing The Price Of The Apache RTR 180 BS6 Model
We're impressed that TVS managed to keep an increase in costs at a minimum, and also because they've brought people closer to buying the 180 instead of the 160. We think the company should have offered a new paint scheme, considering it has been almost two years since its last update.
