Triumph Motorcycles has announced the start of pre-launch bookings for their all-new Trident 660 roadster motorcycle in the Indian market. The new Triumph Trident 660 was unveiled in international markets recently and is now expected to make its way to India as well.

Considering the start of pre-bookings, we expect Triumph to launch the Trident 660 in the Indian market sometime by the end of this year or by January 2021. Once launched the new Triumph Trident 660 will be the brand's most affordable offering, positioned below the Street Triple R in their ‘Roadster' range.

The new entry-level Triumph Trident 660 motorcycle will come powered by a 660cc in-line three-cylinder engine. It produces 80bhp at 10,250rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 6,250rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox, with a standard slip/assist clutch.

Other mechanicals on the Trident 660 includes 41mm USD forks from Showa at the front and a Showa mono-shock at the rear, both of them being fully adjustable. Braking is handled by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS. The Roadster further rides on 17-inch wheels shod with Michelin Road 5 tyres and tips the scale at just 189kg.

In terms of design, the new Triumph Trident 660 comes with a minimalistic design, with an exposed frame and engine, single-piece seat and a sculpted fuel tank with the large Triumph logo across it. The Trident 660 is packed with features as well, including a host of electronic rider aids.

Some of the features on the Triumph Trident 660 include all-LED lighting for the headlamps, DRLs, tail lights and the turn indicators. The motorcycle also comes with a TFT display, traction control, ride-by-wire, riding modes (Rain & Road) and many others.

Being an entry-level offering, the Triumph Trident 660 is expected to be priced aggressively in the Indian market. We expect Triumph to price the Trident 660 in the Rs 7 lakh range, ex-showroom bracket.
