Triumph Motorcycles have launched their all-new Tiger 900 adventure-tourer motorcycle in the Indian market. The all-new Triumph Tiger 900 replaces its predecessor, the Tiger 800 XR range in the Indian market.

The all-new Triumph Tiger 900 is offered with a starting price of Rs 13.70 lakh. The Adventure-Tourer offering is available in India in three variants: GT (road-focused), Rally (Off-road) and the range-topping Rally Pro. The top-spec Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is priced at Rs 15.50 lakh while the mid-spec Rally variant is priced at Rs 14.35 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (India).

Bookings for the all-new Triumph Tiger 900 started a few weeks ago. Customers can book the new Tiger 900 across all dealerships and online for a token amount of Rs 50,000. Deliveries for the new Adv-tourer will begin shortly.

The Triumph Tiger 900 has been built completely from the ground up. The new motorcycle features a fresh new design, with the Tiger 900 now narrower and more aggressive than its predecessor. The front features a brand-new set of LED headlamps with LED DRLs. There is also a new TFT instrument cluster which can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

The TFT display also allows riders to answer calls, read messages and use navigation as well. The motorcycle can also connect to a GoPro action camera, which can further be operated using the switches on the left-side handlebar.

Other electronics on offer on the new Triumph Tiger 900 include ride-by-wire, customisable ABS, cornering ABS, traction control, 6-speed IMU (inertial measurement unit) and six different riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road, Off-Road Pro and Rider.

The all-new Triumph Tiger 900 now also comes with a higher displacement from its three-cylinder engine. The 888cc three-cylinder unit also makes use of new lightweight components as well, reducing the overall engine weight by around 2.5kg.

Triumph has also changed the firing order from 1-2-3 to 1-3-2, which has changed the exhaust note. The Tiger 900 now offers a more base-laden note, compared to the whine on the Tiger 800. However, the change in firing order is not only for the exhaust change, but also offers better torque spread across the rev range.

The 888cc three-cylinder unit produces the same 94bhp of power output at 8,750rpm. However, peak torque has increased by 10 per cent to 87Nm at 7,250rpm.

The base-spec Triumph Tiger 900 GT comes with Marzocchi 45mm upside-down forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. The mid and top-spec variants, Rally and Rally Pro feature 45mm USD forks from Showa. While the base-spec offers 170mm of rear-wheel travel, the mid and top-spec models on the Tiger 900 feature a higher 240mm of suspension travel.

Apart from all the above features and equipment on offer, Triumph Motorcycles India also offers the Tiger 900 with 65 accessories and kits as well. The Tiger 900 GT comes with the ‘Expedition Kit', while the Rally and Rally Pro are offered with ‘Trekker Kit'.
