Triumph Rocket 3 GT Launched In India: Priced At Rs 18.40 Lakh
Triumph Motorcycles has launched its flagship model the Rocket 3 GT in the Indian market. The performance touring motorcycle is priced at Rs 18.40 lakh, ex-showroom (India). Bookings for the motorcycle has begun.
The Rocket 3 GT is powered by the largest engine that is currently in production. The 2,458cc inline-three-cylinder engine. It produces a maximum of 165bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 221Nm at 4,000rpm.
The engine comes mated a six-speed gearbox with slip-assist clutch and an optional bi-directional quickshifter. The final drive of the cruiser is done by the brand's shaft-driven mechanics.
The Rocket 3 GT features the brand's signature twin LED-headlamps with integrated DRLs, and the brand's triangle branding placed in the middle of the headlamp. It also features a muscular-looking 18-litre sculpted fuel tank with central recess, a brushed stainless steel tank strap.
It also features brushed aluminium Monza-style fuel-tank lid, oil cap, coolant cap and air-box cover. The 3-into-1 stainless exhaust gives the bike an appealing look. All the design elements on the motorcycle give it an imposing stance with a strong road presence.
The Rocket 3 GT is the brand ultimate mile muncher and grand tourer. As a result, the company has given the GT variant a couple of features to support the touring ability of the motorcycle. This includes a wider handlebar that is also pulled back towards the rider along with bar-end mirrors.
The Rocket 3 GT also features heated grips as standard with two-levels of heating, 20-inch intricate spoked alloy wheels, well-cushioned rider and pillion seat along with a height-adjustable backrest for the pillion rider.
Other features include an extended flyscreen offering enhanced weather protection. For maximum comfort for every rider, each Rocket 3 GT offers a range of rider-adjustable ergonomics. This includes three horizontal position choices for front-footpegs along with a height-adjustable pillion backrest.
The Rocket 3 GT features the brand's second-generation TFT display for instrumentation. The TFT unit is angle-adjustable for optimum visibility. It also features two information layout themes that can be personalised, allowing the rider to update the start-up screen message with their name.
The touring motorcycle is also offered with a host of electronic rider aids, all of which can be controlled through the digital display. It features four riding modes: Rain, Road, Sport and Custom, Dual-channel ABS with cornering assist, and traction control supported by an IMU, cruise control, hill hold assist, and keyless ignition and USB charging; among others.
The instrument console can be fitted with the brand's motorcycle integrated GoPro control system. This enables the rider for intuitive video and photo operation via the switchgear. It can also be fitted with a Bluetooth module for smartphone connectivity thorough My Triumph app. It will also provide inbuilt navigation powered by Google.
Additionally, customers can also choose to add a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System to their motorcycle. Speaking of customization, the company is offering over 50 dedicated accessories to the new Rocket 3 GT.
The accessories offered by the company include cosmetic, functional and performance upgrades. Triumph Motorcycle has hang-picked a set of accessories to support long-distance touring. Called the ‘Highway Inspiration Kit', it includes luggage rack, sports panniers, pannier mount kit, Triumph Shift Assist (bi-directional quickshifter), and Triumph TFT Connectivity System.
Suspension duties are handled by a partially-adjustable (rebound and compression) 47mm USD cartridge forks at the front and a completely-adjustable (rebound, compression and preload) mono-shock setup at the rear, both of which are sourced from Showa.
Braking on the motorcycle is done via twin 320mm discs along with a radially-mounted M4.30 Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers at the front, and a single 300mm unit at the rear with Brembo M4.32 4-piston calipers.
The GT is also fitted with Avon Cobra Chrome tyres, developed especially for the new Rocket 3 range. The motorcycle is offered in two colour schemes: Phantom Black, and Sliver Ice and Strom Grey dual-tone option.

The Rocket 3 GT completes the Rocket range which has the roadster and touring variants. With this, we also strengthen our BS-VI offering in India to 13 motorcycles which is the largest BS-VI line-up in the premium motorcycle space in India."
