The 2021 V-Strom 650XT is available in two colours: Champion Yellow No. 2 and Pearl Glacier White.
The Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT is powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC V-twin 645cc engine. It produces a maximum of 69.7bhp at 8800rpm and a peak torque of 62Nm at 6500rpm, paired to a six-speed gearbox as standard. The motorcycle has adopted the Suzuki Easy Start System enabling a secure and stress-free start with the push of a button.
The middleweight adventure tourer features a few electronic rider aids. This includes three-mode traction control, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The rider can toggle between various levels of traction control using the Instrument cluster and the switchgear.
Suspension duties are handled by the same 43mm adjustable telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock suspension setup at the rear, with rebound and preload adjustability. The stopping performance on the 650XT come via with 310mm twin discs with twin-piston callipers up front and a 260mm single disc with a single-piston calliper on the rear.
The V-Strom 650XT does not feature any new design changes as compared to its BS4 counterpart. The adventure-touring motorcycle continues to feature a front beak with LED headlamps.
Other features such as raised handlebar with upright rider ergonomics, tall and adjustable windscreen, knuckle guards, engine protector spoke wheels, a well-cushioned single-piece seat and more have been carried over from the BS4 model to the 2020 V-Strom 650XT.
The instrument cluster features a large analogue tachometer and digital readouts for the gear position and speedometer. The digital section below displays the odometer, twin-trip meter, clock, fuel level, coolant temperature, and traction-control modes.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, "V-Strom has made its following in India. The ultimate adventure tourer has proved its mettle in the highway touring capabilities while exploring different terrains. It is truly a masterpiece with the ultimate balance provided by the natural riding position, comfortable seat and the flexible engine character. This is our first BS6 compliant big bike and we are confident that this cleaner and greener motorcycle will continue to win people's hearts with its performance and manoeuvrability as it hit the Indian roads".
