Suzuki Katana Unveiled In Two New Paint Schemes: Here Are All The Details
The Katana was introduced by Suzuki back in 1981 and the production for the street bike continued until 2006. Suzuki resurrected the iconic name last year. Moreover, during the 2020 Auto Expo, Suzuki for the first time displayed the Katana ( which is not available in our country at the moment) on the centre stage in the pavilion.
The Suzuki Katana was more of a street bike for people who are not looking for sharp dynamics like that of the GSX-S1000. The company was supposed to showcase the updated and refreshed version of the Katana at the Tokyo and Osaka motorcycle shows but they got cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, that did not stop Suzuki from displaying its new offering to the world. Like other manufacturers, Suzuki, used the power of social media to show off their updated lineup and this time the Katana gets two new colour schemes.
Speaking about the new colours, the first one is the Candy Red with colour-matched wheels and a gold-coloured handlebar and front fork. On the other hand, the second is a matte black one that is more in line with what is currently available and also comes with a gold-coloured handlebar, front fork and gold-coloured wheels.
At the front, the Suzuki Katana gets an all-LED rectangular headlamp which follows an old-school look. The suspension set up on the Suzuki Katana consists of a fully adjustable KYB 43mm USD fork and a link-type monoshock unit adjustable for preload and rebound damping. Braking duties are handled by Brembo radial calipers.
Powering the Suzuki Katana is the same 999cc inline-four, liquid-cooled engine which also powers the GSX-S1000F. The unit is capable of making 150bhp at 10,000rpm and 108Nm of peak torque at 9,500rpm. Other features include a slipper-clutch, a three-level traction control system, and dual-channel ABS.
Thoughts On The New Paint Schemes For The Katana
The Katana has been one of the iconic motorcycles from the company's portfolio. The motorcycle just looks fabulous and has that old school charm to it and now with the two new colour schemes, it looks more fabulous.
