Royal Enfield Meteor 350: Top Things To Know About The Brand’s All-New 350cc Offering!
Royal Enfield recently introduced its all-new Meteor 350 motorcycle in the Indian market. The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 comes with a starting price of Rs 1.75 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). The new Meteor 350 is the successor to the brand's Thunderbird 350 model and comes with a completely new chassis, engine and most other components.
The modern-classic cruiser motorcycle features a host of new features and is offered in a rangge of three variants: Fireball, Stellar & Supernova. Bookings for the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has already begun, with deliveries to start shortly. If you are considering the new Meteor 350, here are some of the top things to know, before going ahead and making the purchase.
Top Speed & Acceleration
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 comes with a brand-new engine, which now uses SOHC technology. While this does help in reducing the vibrations, performance from the engine is still modest at best.
Royal Enfield hasn't officially announced the exact top speed and 0 - 100km/h figures. However, the motorcycle is expected to be able to rear a top speed of around 120km/h. While we are yet to test the 0 - 100km/h timing, we expect it to be in the range of around 14 seconds.
Note: These are just calculated assumptions at these points. We will update the official figures once announced by Royal Enfield.
Engine Specifications (Power & Torque Figures)
As mentioned before, the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 comes with a completely revamped engine unit. While the displacement remains the same at 349cc, the engine now replaces the old push-rod system with the SOHC technology. This further helps the Meteor 350 get rid of the ‘characteristic' vibrations for a much smoother and refined ride.
The engine comes in the form of a 349cc single-cylinder air-oil cooled SOHC unit. It produces 20.2bhp at 6100rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 4500rpm, paired with a five-speed gearbox.
Mileage & Fuel Tank Capacity
The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 with the new and refined engine also manages to return an impressive fuel efficiency figure of around 40km/l mark. This when combined with the 15-litre fuel tank gives the Meteor 350 to cruise 600km between two petrol fillings.
Seat Height, Kerb Weight & Wheelbase
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cruiser offers extremely comfortable riding ergonomics. The Meteor 350 cruiser comes with a seat height of 765mm and has a kerb weight of 191kg. This makes the motorcycle accessible to all types of riders, short or tall, which combined with the 1400mm wheelbase, forward set footpegs, raised handlebar and the wide comfortable seats, really offer good riding ergonomics.
Tyres, Brakes & Suspension
The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 rides on tubeless tyres at both ends with 19-inch alloys at the front and 17-inchers at the rear. The wheels further come shod with 100/90 and 140/70 tyre profiles at the front and rear, respectively.e suspension on the motorcycle is via 41mm telescopic forks at the front with 130mm travel and a six-way preload adjustable dual-shock absorbers set up at the rear. Brakings is via 300mm and 270mm disc brakes at the front and rear, respectively; supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.
Variants, Colour Options & Prices
As mentioned before, the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 comes in a range of three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. While all three variants have the same engine, they do come with different colour schemes.
The entry-level Fireball variant is offered in Yellow & Red. The mid-spec ‘Stellar' trim comes in Blue, Red and Black and the top-spec ‘Supernova' trim has two dual-tone paint schemes on offer: Brown/Black & Blue/Black.
Prices for the entry-level Meteor 350 Fireball start at Rs 1.75 lakh. The mid-spec Meteor 350 Stellar is priced at Rs 1.81 lakh while the top-spec Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Supernova comes with a price tag of Rs 1.90 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
