Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Complete Details Leaked Ahead Of Launch: Engine Specs & More

Ahead of its launch in the Indian market sometime this month, the details of the Meteor has been leaked by a video posted on YouTube channel by Rider Lal. The leaked documents reveal the engine specs, new chassis details and new features that will be equipped on the Meteor 350.

Speaking about the all-new powertrain, the Meteor will feature a new engine that is based on the current 350 UCE unit. It will be an all-new (OHC) OverHead Camshaft set up of the current 346cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine.

It will be a long-stroke engine that will be producing a maximum of 20.2bhp and a peak torque of 27Nm. In comparison, the current UCE engine produces 19.1bhp and 28Nm — 1.1bhp less and 1Nm of torque more than the new engine.

Along with an all-new engine, the Meteor 350 will also feature an improved transmission system with a newly developed lighter clutch offering smoother shifts. The new setup is expected to offer more refinement, better fuel efficiency, and improved performance over the current UCE units.

It is will be using a new modular J platform for chassis along with raised handlebar giving an up-right rider ergonomics. However, it is expected to retain its suspension and braking setup from the Thunderbird models. This includes telescopic forks, twin-shocks at the rear and disc brakes at both ends. It could be offered with dual-channel ABS as standard.

One among the biggest upgrade will be the new Bluetooth enabled digital instrument console. The motorcycle will feature a twin-pod design with the larger pod reserved for main information, while the smaller pod will operate as the on-board navigation system called the ‘Tripper Navigation Unit'.

The Tripper Navigation Unit is Bluetooth enabled for smartphone connectivity and shows the route in the form of pace-note type arrows. The navigation unit will also have Day and Night modes.

While the main instrumentation will also feature a digital display, which offers a host of information such as speed, tachometer and trip details; among others. Adding to the list of modern touches is the USB mobile charging slot.

The Meteor carries the brand's retro design along with a bobber style elements. It features a larger sculpted fuel tank, and a round-shaped halogen headlamp with integrated LED DRLs for the first time in Royal Enfield. It also features LED tail lamps along with the low-set turn indicator assembly at the rear adds to the bobber-looks.
