Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 BS6 Price Hike Announced: New Price List
Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer, Royal Enfield, has announced a price hike on the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650 flagship motorcycles in the Indian market. Both motorcycles have received its first price hike since the BS6 update from the company.
During the time of BS6 launch, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 received a price increase of around Rs 8,000, and Rs 9,000, respectively. However, due to the increasing costs in manufacturing, the company has revised the prices of both motorcycles.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is available in a host of colour options, all of which are affected by the price increase. This includes Orange Crush, Silver Spectre, Mark Three, Ravishing Red, Baker Express, and the top-spec Glitter and Dust.

Prices for the motorcycle are increased by around Rs 1,800. After the price increase, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 retails between Rs 2.66 lakh and 2.87 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
Coming to the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, it is also available in a couple of paint schemes to choose from. This includes Ventura Blue, Black Magic, Ice Queen White, Dr Mayhem, and the top-spec Mister Clean.

All colour options receive a price hike of around Rs 1800 as well. After the price increase, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 retails between Rs 2.82 lakh and 3.03 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
No changes have been made to the motorcycle by the company. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 are powered by the same 649cc air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin-cylinder engine.
It produces peak power of 47bhp at 7,150rpm and a peak torque of 52Nm at 5,250rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, with slipper-clutch assisted. 80 per cent of the maximum torque is available as low as 2500rpm.
The suspension duties on both the motorcycles are handled by a 41mm forks at the front and twin-gas charged shocks at the rear with 5-step adjust for pre-load damping.
The braking on the motorcycle is done through a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS offered as standard. Both motorcycles feature 18-inch spoked wheels shod with Pirelli Phantom Sportcomp tyres at both ends.
The Interceptor 650 offers a more relaxed with upright handlebars and footpegs set at normal position. On the other hand, the Continental GT 650 with its long tank design and clip-on handlebars features a more aggressive riding position.

Royal Enfield has given a marginal price increase to its flagship Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 motorcycle in the Indian market. Despite the price increase, the 650 twins are the cheapest parallel-twin motorcycles that are currently available in the country.
