Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 Prices Increased: Here Is The New Price List!
Royal Enfield has hiked the prices of its BS6-compliant Himalayan adventure-tourer motorcycle in India. The 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 motorcycle is now offered with a starting price of Rs 1.91 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi), after receiving a hike of Rs 1,836.
This price hike is constant across all paint schemes on offer. This includes Granite Grey, Snow White, Sleet Grey, Gravel Grey, Rocky Red & Lava Blue. The new prices for the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 range from Rs 1.91 lakh for the Granite Grey and goes up all the way to Rs 1.95 lakh for the Lava Blue paint scheme. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
Apart from the price hike, there are no other changes made to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Also, there the Chennai-based brand hasn't officially specified any particular reason for the price hike, although the rising manufacturing costs could be the most probable reason.
The BS6-compliant Royal Enfield Himalayan continues to be powered by the same 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 24bhp and 32Nm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The suspension is through a standard set of 41mm telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock setup at the rear. The motorcycle offers an impressive amount of suspension travel as well; 200mm at the front and 180mm at the rear. Braking is handled by 300mm discs at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS as standard.
The price hike on the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 is the second increase since January 2020. The first price hike for the Himalayan happened back in March 2020, when prices for the adv-tourer were increased by Rs 2700.
Apart from the Himalayan, Royal Enfield recently hiked the prices of its 650-twins as well. Both the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650 received a similar price hike of Rs 1800 — here are the details.
Thoughts On The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 Price Hike
Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 has received its second price hike in 2020, however, the motorcycle continues to remain under the Rs 2 lakh price bracket, making it an attractive offering in the entry-level ADV-Tourer segment. The Himalayan takes on rivals such as the BMW G 310 GS and KTM 390 Adventure; both of which are priced higher.
