Renamed KARGIL, the 350cc motorcycle has been modified for an officer of the Indian Armed Forces. The whole motorcycle features a black treatment, with a white silhouette of soldiers on the redesigned fuel tank.

The modified 350cc Electra model features an all LED headlamp and an LED strip for the tail lamp. The original rear view mirrors have been replaced with bar-end ones allowing for an unobstructed view while riding.

The motorcycle features split seats that look like they can be folded to make a back rest when riding alone. The side boxes that house the air filter, tool kit, and fuses have been redesigned to make the motorcycle look more ‘business', and they have the name KARGIL embossed on to them.

Ornithopter Moto Design has replaced the stock muffler with one that looks like a barrel from a long range artillery gun, adding more oomph to the bike. A custom registration plate holder has been mounted on the rear fender.

No changes have been made to the engine and the motorcycle continues to feature a 346 cc, single cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke unit that produces 19.8 brake horsepower and 28Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.

We spoke with Amol from Ornithopter Moto Design and were told that the modifications cost about Rs 90,000. We were also told that the motorcycle was built for Lieutenant Akash Zende while he was at Nashik during training. We were unable to get in touch with Lt. Zende.

General Trivia:

Nashik houses the Indian Military's School of Artillery. Once an officer is commissioned either from the Indian Military Academy at Dehradun or the Officers Training Academy at Chennai, he spends six months with his unit before attending a Young Officer's Course at the School of Artillery, after which he returns to his unit.

The Indian Army has three Artillery Divisions. There's the 40 Artillery Division based at Ambala in Haryana (under the Western Command), there's the 41 Artillery Division based at Pune in Maharashtra (under the Southern Command), and the 42 Artillery Division based at Alwar in Rajasthan (under the South Western Command).

Thoughts About The Modified Royal Enfield Electra 350 Named KARGIL

We think this is one of the nicer mods done to a Royal Enfield, and for a soldier nonetheless. The motorcycle looks absolutely rugged, and we are very impressed with the work Ornithopter Moto Design has done. And congratulations Lt. Zende, and thank you for your service.
