Royal Enfield Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition Revealed Ahead Of Launch: Bookings Now Open!
Royal Enfield recently announced the end of production of its long-standing 500cc offerings in the Indian market. The company will be ending the production of all models with the 499cc engine, including the Classic, Bullet and the Thunderbird.
As a way to bid adieu to these products from the Indian market, Royal Enfield has unveiled the Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition in the country. The new Royal Enfield Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition will go on sale in India on the 10th of February.
Bookings for the limited edition Classic 500 has now begun. The sale of the Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition will be held between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the 10th of February alone.
The limited-edition model will feature the brand's 499cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It will produce the same 27bhp and 41Nm of peak torque mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. However, the limited edition will come with a dual-tone paint scheme along with a unique serial number.
Royal Enfield has no plans of updating its 500cc engine to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms in the Indian market. The company will concentrate more on its 650cc range, which currently consists of the Interceptor and the Continental GT.
Apart from the 650cc models, Royal Enfield will continue to offer their popular 350cc offerings as well. The company has already updated the 350cc to comply with the latest BS6 emission norms, which are set to be implemented from the 1st of April 2020.
Among the 350cc offerings, the Classic 350 is their most popular model, which has already received the BS6 update. The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 is now priced Rs 11,000 higher than its BS4 version at Rs 1.64 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
Apart from the 650cc and 350cc offerings, the Chennai-based brand also has the 411cc engine on offer, available on the Himalayan. The Royal Enfield Himalayan recently received the BS6 update as well, while also offering a number of new features and paint schemes.
Thoughts On The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition is a homage to the long-standing 500cc products offered by the brand in the Indian market. The 500cc models from the brand will be on sale till the 31st of March, before being discontinued altogether.
