Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Moto Guzzi, has unveiled the new V7 motorcycle internationally. The company has made several changes to the updated motorcycle including an updated engine.

The V7 motorcycle was first launched over fifty years ago and has gone through several iterations. The company marked the iteration by a roman numeral next to the name of the motorcycle, for example, the V7 III. However, for the 2021 model, Moto Guzzi has removed the roman numeral.

The 2021 V7 motorcycle is available in two variants: the V7 Stone and the V7 Special. The V7 Stone feature a more modern design and equipment including alloy wheels, a fully-digital instrument cluster and blacked-out hardware. The Stone variant is available in three satin-finish colour schemes: Nero Ruvido, Azzurro Ghiaccio and Arancione Rame.

On the other hand the Moto Guzzi V7 Special varaint pay homage to the original motorcycle. It features spoke wheels, double-pod analogue cluster, and chrome-finished exhaust; among others. The V7 Special is available in two dual-tone colour options: Blu Formale and Grigio Casual.

The 2021 Moto Guzzi V7 features an all-new engine that is similar to the ones powering the V85 TT adventure-touring motorcycle present in the brand's line-up. It motorcycle will also carry-forward the shaft-driven final drive technology on the V7.

The 850cc twin-cylinder engine on the motorcycle produces a maximum of 65bhp at 6800rpm and a peak torque of 73Nm at 5000rpm. In comparison, the engine on the outgoing motorcycle produces 13bhp and 13Nm torque less than the new engine. The 2021 V7 model is 25 per cent more powerful than the outgoing model of the motorcycle.

In terms of design, the V7 features a modern-retro roadster look coming from the round-shaped LED headlamp. Other features include a long sculpted fuel tank, round-shaped taillamp, dual exhaust setup, single-piece wide handlebar, a single-piece ribbed seat, and forward-set footpegs; among others. The motorcycle also features a selectable traction control system.

The frame on the new motorcycle is modified. It will support the new long-travel telescopic suspension at the front from Kayaba. The rear suspension is handled by a twin-shock setup also sourced from Kayaba.

Braking on the motorcycle is done via single-disc brake at both ends supported by a dual-channel ABS. The company has also upgraded the rear tyre size to a wider 150/70 tyre from the older 130/80 section on the outgoing model.

The 2021 Moto Guzzi V7 feature substantial upgrades over the outgoing model of the motorcycle. It is powerful and is better equipped along with a few cosmetic changes over the V7 III. The 2021 Moto Guzzi V7 will rival the Kawasaki W800, the BMW R nineT, Triumph Bonneville, and the Yamaha XSR900; among others sold in the international market.
