MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro Production Started: A Vintage Italian Sportsbike From Modern Era

The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro was showcased as a concept at the 2018 EICMA Show in Milan where it was awarded ‘Most Beautiful Bike of the Show'. The modern-retro Italian sports bike is limited to just 300 units made for the entire world.

The ‘Serie Oro' is a limited edition version of the standard Superveloce 800 motorcycle in the brand's line-up. The special edition motorcycle features a host of changes over the standard model including upgraded electronics.

The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 motorcycle is based on the same chassis that underpins the F3 800 model from the company's line-up. The Superveloce 800 features a vintage design that dates back to the 1970s where the motorcycle during the era featured a round-shaped headlamp, and a bubble windscreen as well.

After the motorcycle was showcased at the 2018 EICMA, the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro has gained popularity and has won many awards for its revolutionary modern-retro design. Talking about the motorcycle's features, as mentioned earlier it features a round-shaped LED headlamp and a tail lamp, with silver rings on the limited edition Serie Oro as compared to the standard model.

The company has done an impressive job of hiding all screws and mounts from the outside of the fairing. The limited-edition Serie Oro gets an upgrade in this department, with its fairing and most other aerodynamic pieces being made of carbon fibre, rather than plastic fibre used on the standard Superveloce 800 variant.

Other exterior changes on the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro includes cruise control, a gold DID chain, a GPS sensor, a unique fuel cap with a leather strap, an alcantara-covered seat, and bespoke covers for the motorcycle.

The standard motorcycle comes powered by a 798cc in-line three-cylinder engine. It produces a maximum power of 145bhp at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 88Nm at 10,600rpm. However, the limited edition Serie Oro features an Arrow exhaust system with a remapped ECU, which increases the maximum power to 150bhp at 13,250rpm. The placement of exhaust has changed on the limited-edition motorcycle. The Serie Oro features two exhausts on the right and one on the left, as compared to all three at the right side on the standard model.

The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox supported by a slipper assist clutch and a bi-directional quick shifter for clutchless shifting. The motorcycle features a host of electronic rider aids. These include four power modes, eight-level of traction control adjustment, and a Bosch 9 Plus ABS with race mode & rear-wheel lift mitigation.

The suspension duties on the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 are handled by a Marzocchi-sourced 43mm USD fork, with adjustment for rebound-damping and spring-preload and a fully adjustable progressive mono-shock from Sachs at the rear. Braking on the motorcycle is via 320mm floating discs with radially-mounted four-piston Brembo Monoblock callipers at the front, and a 220mm disc with two-piston Brembo calliper at the rear. It also features 17-inch wire-spoked alloy wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres.
