MotoGP 2020 Race Calendar Announced: Season Starts 19 July At Jerez

Exciting news for motorsport fans! MotoGP has announced their 2020 schedule that includes a minimum 13-round calendar for Moto2 and Moto3. Most of the races have been scheduled for between July and November in Europe. The 2020 season will not finish later than December 13 with a maximum of 17 rounds.

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) also said that there was a possibility of four races to be held outside Europe subject to an assessment. The body said that a decision would be made before 31 July.

The season will start at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain with the Gran Premio Red Bull de Espana on 19 July, and the Gran Premio Red Bull de Andalucia on 26 July. Following a weekend off, the action will move to the Czech Republic for the Monster Energy Grand Prix Ceske Republiky at Brno, followed by the myWorld Motorrad Grand Prix von Osterreich, and the Grand Prix von Styria at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Three weeks later, racers will be at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for rounds six and seven of the MotoGP World Championship, followed by the rescheduled Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya at the Circuit de Barcelona.

France will host the rescheduled SHARK Helmets Grand Prix de France at Le Mans on 11 October, followed by the fourth double-header at Aragon. The last two European rounds will take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on 8 November and 15 November.

The Covid-19 situation saw the Dutch, the German, the Finnish, the Australian, the Japanese, the British and the Italian GPs cancelled. The FIM has now listed the USA, Argentina, Thailand, and Malaysia as potential overseas race destinations once the European races are finished.
