Mahindra Mojo BS6 Bookings Commence Ahead Of Launch: New Colour Options Added
The BS6-compliant Mahindra Mojo is all set to launch in the Indian market soon. We expect it to arrive sometime either by the end of this month or early next month. Ahead of its launch, the company has started to accept bookings for the entry-level touring motorcycle.
The Mojo BS6 can be booked for a token amount of Rs 5,000 at the authorised dealership across the country. The motorcycle was also spotted testing in the outskirts of Pune revealing some of the details — here are more details.
The soon to be launched BS6 Mojo is also offered with a couple of new colour options: Garnet Black Red Agate, Black Pearl and Ruby Red. Apart from the new paint schemes, it will also feature an updated engine as well.
The liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder 294.72cc engine that is now updated to BS6 standards. In its BS4 format, the engine produced a maximum of 26.29bhp at 7500rpm and a peak torque of 28Nm at 5500rpm. The engine came mated to a standard six-speed gearbox. We expect the power and torque figures to remain the same with the BS6 engine.
Apart from the new colours, no other cosmetic changes are expected on the Mojo BS6 bike. It will continue to feature the appealing dual headlamps setup, a semi-digital instrument cluster, 21-litre large fuel tank and more.
The motorcycle was well-suited for long-distance travelling with a relaxed riding position with a seat height of 815mm. The suspension setup on the BS4 motorcycle was handled by a telescopic fork at the front, while the rear gets a mono-shock setup.
Braking was done via 320mm front disc brake and 240mm rear disc brake, both of which are sourced from Bybre. The motorcycle was offered with dual-channel ABS as standard. The Mojo 300 also came equipped with Pirelli Angel City tyres at both ends.
Mahindra launched the Mojo in 2015 and it was eventually recognized as one among the most sought out touring motorcycles in the price bracket. An earlier version of the motorcycle was sold in two variants and came equipped with dual-exhaust on the top-spec models.
However, the company reverted back to a single variant in 2019 and called it the Mojo 300 ABS, which was offered with dual-channel ABS as standard. Most of the components on the 2019 model were borrowed from the ‘UT300' which included the suspension setup and exhaust setup; among others.
Thoughts About The Mahindra Mojo BS6 Bookings Commence Ahead Of Launch
Like some of the other motorcycle in the Indian market, Mahindra Mojo was ahead of time, when the touring scenario was still a niche market. However, since then it has gained a lot of ground with manufacturer launching motorcycle catering to long-distance travelling. As a result, we expect the Mojo BS6 to fair well when launched in the market.
