Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Kawasaki has announced a price hike on its entire line-up of motorcycles sold in the Indian market. The new prices will be effective on purchases made starting from January 1, 2021.

Along with the announcement of price increase, the company has also revealed the new price list of all motorcycles. This includes the ‘Z' naked range, the ‘Ninja' supersport range, the ‘Versys' adventure-touring motorcycles, the KX and KLX off-road model range; among others.

The company is yet to make an official statement on the reason behind the price increase. However, judging by the recent price increase activity in the country, we believe it might because of the increased input manufacturing costs.

Based on the new prices the popular naked motorcycle Z650 will retail at Rs 6.04 lakh as opposed to the current price tag of Rs 5.94 lakh &mdash an increase of Rs 10,000. While its elder sibling the Z900 currently retails at Rs 7.99 lakh. The price will be increased by Rs 19,000 and will cost Rs 8.19 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (India).

Moving to another popular model from the brand, the Versys 650. The adventure-touring motorcycle from the brand will see an increase of Rs 15,000. The Versys 650 will retail at Rs 6.94 lakh, ex-showroom (India). On the other hand, its elder sibling the Versys 1000 has received a price hike of Rs 19,000.

Prices of the Ninja 600 and the Ninja 1000SX have increased by Rs 15,000. Both suspersport motorcycles from the brand will retail at Rs 6.39 lakh and 11.04 lakh, respectively. The company also offers the Vulcan S cruiser and the W800 retro roadster motorcycles in the country. Both models received a price hike of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.

Moving to the brand's off-road motorcycle range, the KX and the KLX models have not been affected by the price increase. These motorcycles cater to a very niche market and are not road-legal as well. As a result, the company has decided to retain the 2020 pricing for the next year as well.

The KX range of motorcycle retails between Rs 4.87 lakh to Rs 7.79 lakh for the top-spec KX450 model. Similarly, the KLX range starts from Rs 2.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 8.49 lakh for the top-spec KLX450R model. All prices mentioned in this article are ex-showroom (India).
