Coronavirus Lockdown: Kawasaki India Extends Warranty & Free Service Period Till End-June
Kawasaki India has announced an extension of its warranty and free service period for its customers amidst the coronavirus lockdown. The company announced that all motorcycles whose warranty period lapses between the 1st of March and 30th of April 2020 will receive the extension.
The warranty and free service period for Kawasaki customers have been extended until the 30th of June 2020. This gives the bike owners plenty of time post lockdown to receive their scheduled free service.
The company joins a long list of two-wheeler manufacturers who have announced such a benefit to its customers. This includes the likes of Bajaj, KTM, Yamaha, TVS and Honda; among others.
Amidst the coronavirus lockdown, which has now been extended till the 3rd of May, all vehicle manufacturing and operations have been shut down. The Ministry of Commerce had recently sent out a letter to the Home Affairs Ministry to allow automobile manufacturers to restart operations at 25% capacity.
However, the Ministry has decided otherwise, meaning the auto industry will continue to remain closed till the end of lockdown — here are the details.
With operations closed, company dealerships have been struggling as many of them have a large number of unsold BS4 models leftover. The Supreme court had initially given a 10-day period post the initial lockdown on the 14th of April to sell 10% of their leftover stock. However, with the lockdown extended, this 10-day period has also been deferred as well.
Amidst the lockdown period, most vehicle manufacturers have now begun operating small teams to support the government's efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many manufacturers have started production of medical equipment such as face shields, protective gear, ventilators and others for distribution among healthcare officials, doctors, hospitals and other authorities actively fighting the deadly virus.
Thoughts On Kawasaki Extending The Warranty & Free Service Period In India
Kawasaki India has joined the long list of two and four-wheeler manufacturers who have extended the deadlines for vehicle warranty and service periods. Many are also actively taking steps in supporting the state and central governments to fight the deadly virus in India.
