The new heated and cooled seat features a thermoelectric module combined with a graphene structure to heat or cool the rider and pillion seats at command. Temperatures for each seat can be controlled independently.
Most aftermarket units blow temperature controlled air through perforations in the seat, the one designed by Indian Motorcycle effectively changes the temperature of the whole seat.

The thermoelectric module that is onboard allows for electricity to pass through the graphene, causing one side of the material to reflect heat and the opposite side to absorb it. Temperature changes are made by changing the direction of the electrical flow.

As is, the heating and cooling seat option is available only for the brand's United States markets, and are available for the Indian Chief, the Indian Chieftain, and the Indian Roadmaster. The seats are priced at USD 1,200 ( roughly Rs 91,000 plus taxes).

While there isn't any information about the seats making its way to India just yet, we expect to see it soon, considering that Indian Motorcycle sells the Chief, the Chieftain, and the Roadmaster models in the country.

Well known heated and cooled seat manufacturers like Corbin and KonTour are two prominent manufacturers that make aftermarket heating and cooling seats, however, majorly for Harley-Davidson's range of motorcycles.

In Indian Motorcycle related news, the brand has listed the Indian FTR Carbon, and the Indian FTR Rally on its Indian website, and speculations are that the models will launch soon in the country.

Thoughts About Indian Motorcycle's Heating And Cooling Seat

While there are aftermarket manufacturers that sell heating and cooling kits for motorcycle seats, having a manufacturer take the initiative is refreshing. We hope that this technology features on all motorcycles in the future. Nothing like a cool saddle during the summer!
