Honda has introduced a couple of new technologies on their BS6 vehicles. The all-new BS6 engines from Honda features Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology with ACG Starter motor, this helps to reduce frictional losses and crank the vehicle without any sound, the company calls it "AQuietRevolution by Honda!". All engines also feature Programmable Fuel Injection(PGM-Fi) system and enhance the performance, mileage and power delivery of the Honda BS6 vehicles.
The Honda Unicorn features a 160cc single-cylinder engine producing 12.7bhp and 14Nm of torque, and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also features single-channel ABS for enhanced safety.
The SP 125 and the Shine BS6 models are powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine producing 10.7bhp and 11Nm of torque. The engine on both models comes mated to a five-speed transmission. While the SP 125 features funky graphics, the Shine is styled to look simple with minimal graphics.
The company started their BS6 line-up in India with the introduction of the Activa 125. The scooter has gained mass acceptance, and has registered impressive sales numbers for the brand. The Activa 125 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine producing 8.1bhp and 10.3Nm of torque. Honda has equipped the Activa 125 with an idle start-stop system, side stand indicator, combined braking system (CBS), and a host of other features.
The Activa 6G and the Dio share the same 110cc single-cylinder engine producing 7.6bhp and a peak torque of 9Nm. Both models come equipped with a side-stand indicator, external fuel-lid, multi-function switch; among others.
Thoughts About The Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India 5.5 lakh BS6 Sales Milestone
Honda is a key player in the country for two-wheeler sales. The company has executed the plan with the BS6 shift bang on and has managed to showcase some impressive results. However, Honda has also significantly updated its BS6 models with new technologies and features, and launched their vehicles way ahead of the deadline. A commendable job indeed!
