Hero Xtreme 200S And Xpulse 200T BS6 Compliant Models To Launch Soon: Details
Delhi based motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has announced via its social media handles, and its website, that it will launch BS6 compliant versions of its Hero Xtreme 200 and Hero Xpulse 200 models soon.
While information about the Hero Xtreme 200 remains unavailable, some information is available for the Xpulse 200 models. The motorcycle will feature a BS6 compliant 199.6cc engine that produces 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm of torque.
The engine will arrive mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Both the Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 200T will feature the same engine. In addition, the same engine will be mounted on the Hero Xtreme BS6 models.
In order to comply with new emission rules and norms, the motorcycle will feature a catalytic converter that will be integrated into the exhaust. The motorcycles will also arrive with a redesigned oil-cooling system that the brand says will keep the engine cooler over longer distances.
Expectations are that the motorcycles will weigh up to three kilograms above the roughly 150 kilograms they currently weigh. The company isn't expected to bring any other updates and upgrades to the Xpulse range of motorcycles.
The company offers a fully digital instrument cluster across its entire 200cc range. The cluster also comes with connectivity features like Bluetooth, and turn-by-turn navigation.
Braking duties will continue to be handled by a 276mm disc at the front, and a 220mm one at the rear. Single channel ABS will be offered as standard, with no options for dual-channel ABS.
The Hero Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T are currently priced at Rs 99,400 and Rs 95,500, respectively, and the BS6 models are expected to carry a premium of roughly Rs 10,000 at launch. Hero is expected to launch the motorcycle over the next few weeks.
Thoughts About The BS6 Compliant Hero Xtreme 200 And Xpulse 200T
Some manufacturers are still upgrading their offerings to meet BS6 compliance, and would have achieved the task if not for the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lock down that was called for. We expect manufacturers to have their entire portfolio upgrade to meet BS6 compliance over the next month or two.
