Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has announced that it intends launching three new BS6 products by the end of this year. The announcement comes after the brand announced that its first ever BS6 compliant Panigale will be launched by the end of August.

The Italian manufacturer said that the next motorcycle will be launched during October this year, and will belong to the Multistrada family. The brand has not revealed which Multistrada model will be launched in its BS6 avatar. Industry expectations are that the brand will launch a BS6 compliant 950cc motorcycle.

Following the Multistrada, Ducati plans to launch BS6 compliant Scrambler 800 models during November. The Scrambler range of products are Ducati's highest-selling motorcycles in the country.

The third motorcycle the brand has lined up for launch this year, is a BS6 version of its Scrambler 1100 model. The motorcycle has sold in relatively small numbers, but the brand feels the 1100 has sales potential in the country.

Finally, Ducati is also evaluating the BS6 Scrambler 1100 for an India launch this year. The bike is already available overseas in Euro 5 trim and it comes with some visual changes. The BS4 Scrambler 1100 sold in relatively small numbers here and when we reviewed it, we found it to be a nice road bike, but a ‘scrambler' only by name.

In Ducati related news, the brand recently unveiled its Panigale V2 White Rosso edition that unfortunately isn't making its way to India. Essentially a new colour scheme, the White Rosso adds more appeal to the motorcycle.

While most manufacturers were to launch BS6 compliant motorcycles before the 1 April deadline, some have been unable to make the necessary upgrades to the engines because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown that was called for. We expect other premium brands to launch BS6 compliant motorcycles over the course of the next few months.
