Ducati Panigale V2 India Launch Scheduled For August 26, 2020: Bookings Have Already Begun

Ducati had teased the Panigale V2 earlier this year in April and was supposed to launch soon after the teaser video. However, the launch had to be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the company is all set to launch the Panigale V2 on August 26, 2020.

The deliveries for the Panigale V2 are expected to begin in the month of September. Moreover, some dealers have already started accepting bookings for the entry-level superbike for an amount of Rs 1 lakh. The Ducati Panigale V2 will be replacing the 959 in India and will be the bike maker's first BS6 offering in the country.

The company also unveiled the White Rosso colour scheme for the Panigale V2. Unfortunately, that colour scheme India will not make it to the Indian shores for the time being. So, initially, buyers will have to go for the signature Ducati red colour scheme.

As far as the design goes, the Ducati Panigale V2 will be featuring the brand's signature projector headlights, air dams, and V-shaped DRLs at the front. The new fairing structure allows for more efficient air dams. The Panigale V2 will also feature a 4.3-inch TFT display for an instrument cluster, a 20mm longer seat than the 959, and an under-slung exhaust system.

Powering the Ducati Panigale V2 will be a 955cc Superquadro L-twin engine. The unit produces 155bhp of power and 104Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Panigale V2 also borrows the full electronics kit from the previous generation 959 model, but with a reworked traction control system.

Braking duties on the Panigale V2 are handled by Brembo M4.32 monobloc callipers, and Brembo master cylinders with dual discs at the front, and a single disc brake at the rear. As far as safety is concerned, the Panigale V2 will also feature an electronics package that includes MU-assisted traction control (called the Ducati Traction Control EVO 2), wheelie control, and cornering ABS.

The Ducati Panigale V2 is a beautiful looking motorcycle and despite the new upgraded BS6 compliant engine, the motorcycle makes 5bhp more than the older BS4 compliant ones. We expect the company to price the entry-level superbike from Ducati between the 13.5 to 15 lakh ex-showroom mark.
