BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS BS6 Motorcycles To Be Launched Soon: Unofficial Bookings Begin
BMW Motorrad India is said to be working on introducing the BS6-compliant versions of their entry-level G 310 R & G 310 GS models in the Indian market soon. Pre-launch bookings for the two motorcycles are said to have already begun for an amount of Rs 50,000.
According to reports from BikeDekho, deliveries for the BMW G 310 twins are said to begin sometime at a later stage, during the month of October 2020. Reports also suggest that both motorcycle offerings will come with a substantial reduction in prices compared to their older BS4-iterations.
The BS4-compliant BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS were priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 3.49 lakh, respectively. As per reports, we can expect a price reduction of up to Rs 30,000 on the BS6 versions of both models. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
Apart from the price change, the BS6-compliant BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS will also receive a number of significant updates. This includes all-LED lighting, including LED turn indicators and a slightly redesigned tank with extensions; giving it a more muscular and aggressive look.
The two motorcycles could also feature ride-by-wire technology, along with better engine refinement, throttle response and overall improved performance. However, actual power figures will remain identical.
Other features which will be carried over from the previous model include the engine cowl, single-seat, rear-quarter panels and LCD instrument cluster. The BMW G 310 twins are also said to miss out on multiple riding modes, a feature which is introduced on the BS6-iteration of its faired cousin, the TVS Apache RR310.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 312cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It produces 32bhp and 28Nm of peak torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. This is also the same engine, which powers the TVS Apache R310.
Thoughts On The BS6-Compliant BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS
The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are the brand's entry-level offerings. However, the steep prices for the BS4 versions affected sales of the two motorcycles in the Indian market. With reports suggesting a cut down in price and an increase in features, the BMW G 310 twins could manage to improve sales with its BS6 iteration.
