Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Gets Dual-Channel ABS Along With The BS6 Upgrade
Recently, Bajaj updated the Pulsar RS200 to meet the BS6 norms. Nothing apart from the updated engine has changed on the motorcycle. Prices of the BS6 Rs200 went up by around Rs 3,000 and now it is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh ex-showroom.
Bike Advice got hold of a dealership list where it is seen that the RS200 BS6 has 'twin ABS' written in front of it and is dubbed as the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Twin ABS. The new variant is slightly more expensive than the regular single-channel ABS one. However, the company's website still shows the single-channel one on sale.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 BS6 model continues to draw power from the same 199.5 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces peak power of 24.1bhp at 9,750 rpm and peak torque of 18.6Nm at 8,000rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox. There is a pre-cat installed on the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 BS6 and can be used to tell apart from its BS4 model.
The fully-faired motorcycle will continue to feature dual-projector headlamp setup, part-digital instrument cluster, LED tail lamps and turn indicators; among others. Moreover, the suspension duties on the Pulsar RS200 are carried by a telescopic front fork and a mono-shock suspension at the rear with adjustment for preload damping.
The braking on the motorcycle is done through 300mm discs at the front and 230mm discs at the rear and now features ABS on both ends. The RS200 gets 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends shod with MRF Nylogrip tyres. Once launched the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 BS6 model will rival the only other 200cc fully-faired motorcycle in the Indian market, the KTM RC200.
Thoughts On The Dual-Channel ABS On The Pulsar RS200 BS6
The company updated the motorcycle to meet the BS6 emission norms and now it also gets dual-channel ABS as seen on the dealership list. With the new ABS update, the RS200 will be a safer motorcycle to ride in some tough conditions.
