Bajaj Auto has launched a new base variant of the Pulsar 125 split-seat model in the Indian market. The base-variant uses a drum brake at the front and is now priced at Rs 73,274 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new base variant of the Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat model continues to borrow all of its design and features from the top-spec variant apart from the braking hardware. The entry-level model now features a 170mm and a 130mm drum brake setup at the front and rear, respectively.

In comparison, the top-spec variant of the Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat model features a 240mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum brake at the rear. However, both variants feature combine braking system as standard.

As a result of losing the disc brake, the base model of the Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat is priced around Rs 7,000 lesser than the top-spec variant of the motorcycle. Both variants are offered in two colour options: Black Red & Black Silver.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125 is one of the few motorcycles in the brand's range that carries the original design of the motorcycle with a headlight cowl when launched almost 15-years ago. It continues to be an appealing design for buyers in the market.

The Pulsar 125 features a telescopic suspension at the front and an adjustable twin gas-shock absorbers unit at the rear. The motorcycle comes equipped with alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres at both ends.

Other features on the Pulsar include halogen headlamp with two pilot lamps, LED tail lamp, tank shrouds, a semi-digital instrument cluster, 11.5-litre fuel tank, an engine cowl, a blacked-out muscular-looking exhaust, split grab-rails, and clip-on handlebars. The motorcycle feature very subtle graphics on engine cowl, alloy wheels badging and grab rails.

The Bajaj Pulsar 125 split-seat model is powered by an air-cooled 124.4cc DTS-i engine. It produces a maximum of 11.3bhp at 8500rpm and a peak torque of 10.8Nm at 6500rpm. The engine comes mated to a standard five-speed gearbox.

It is one of the few motorcycles that still carries the distinctive Pulsar looks which has been appealing to buyers for more than 15 years. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 rivals the Hero Glamour and the Honda SP125; among others in the Indian market.
