Bajaj Platina 100 & 110 BS6 Price Increase Announced: Here Is The New Price List
Bajaj Auto has increased the prices of some more models in its line-up. This time the Platina 100 and the 110 BS6 models have received a price increase. Both commuter motorcycles have received a price increase of Rs 1,498 and Rs 2,349, respectively.
After the price increase, the Bajaj Platina 100 retail at RS 49,261, while the Platina 110 costs Rs 62,899. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom (Delhi). Both motorcycles are only available in a single variant.
Both the commuter motorcycles were recently upgraded to comply with new BS6 emission standards. The Platina 100 saw more upgrades along with an updated engine as compared to its elder sibling, the 110 which was just limited to engine update.
The Platina 100 is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, e-carburated 102cc engine. It produces 7.5bhp of power and 8.34Nm of torque, and comes mated to a standard four-speed gearbox.
Other updates include a new tinted windscreen as compared to the colour-matched cowl on the BS4 model. The LED DRL has been moved closer to the headlamp making for a cleaner looking fascia. In addition to this, BS6 motorcycle also features a new, ribbed-pattern seat borrowed from its elder sibling, the Platina 110 H-Gear, and improved suspension setup with 28 per cent longer travel at the front and 22 per cent longer travel at the rear.
Apart from the aforementioned changes the 100cc motorcycle continues to carry forward all its cycle parts from its BS4 counterpart. This includes a telescopic suspension at the front, and the brand's ‘SNS' twin-shock suspension setup at the rear. Anchoring on the motorcycle is done via 130mm drum brakes at the front, and a 110mm drum brake setup at the rear, supported with a combined braking system for additional safety.
Moving to the specification and features of the Platina 110 BS6 motorcycle, as mentioned before the motorcycle remains largely similar to its BS4 counterparts. It is powered by an updated version of the same 115.45cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine, that now features an electronic carburettor.
The engine produces a maximum power of 8bhp at 7000rpm and a peak torque of 9.81Nm at 5000rpm and comes mated to a five-speed transmission. The company claims the updated engine will offer improved mileage and performance over the BS4 compliant units.
The Platina 110 H-Gear BS6 features telescopic forks at the front and dual-spring setup at the rear. Braking is handled through a 240mm disc at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the rear, supported by (CBS) Combi-Braking System as standard.
Thoughts About The Bajaj Platina 100 & 110 BS6 Price Increase Announced
Bajaj Platina 100 and the 110 are among the brand's best sellers in the country. The motorcycles are known for its simple design and ease of ownership with less maintenance. However, the biggest let down will have to be with the electronic carburettor on the BS6 engines as compared to fuel-injected engines on its rivals.
