Bajaj Dominar 400 & 250 Price Hike Announced: Here Is The New Prices List

Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, has announced a price hike on the Dominar 400 and the Dominar 250 motorcycles in the country. The elder sibling receives a second price hike after the BS6 update, while the Dominar 250's prices are increased for the first time since launch.

The Bajaj Domniar 400 receives a price hike of Rs 1,507 and now retails at Rs 1.96 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). Four years since its first launch, the Dominar has seen a price hike of over Rs 35,000 in the Indian market.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 is powered by a 373c single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit producing a maximum of 39.4bhp at 8000rpm and a peak torque of 35Nm at 7000rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assisted clutch.

Bajaj is offering the Dominar 400 with two paint schemes to choose from: Vine Black and Aurora Green. The Dominar 400 features a host of equipment including LED lighting all around, including the headlamps, DRLs and taillights, a fully-digital instrument cluster, twin-barrel exhaust, single-piece handlebar, diamond-cut alloy wheels, 13-litre fuel tank with a secondary display on top split seats and more.

Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and an adjustable mono-shock set up at the rear. Braking is done via a 320mm and 230mm discs at the front and rear, respectively; supported by dual-channel ABS.

On the other hand, its younger sibling the Domniar 250 was launched earlier this year and features a BS6-compliant engine right from the launch. Bajaj has now increased the price of the Domniar 250 by Rs 4,090 and now retails at Rs 1.64 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The new Bajaj Dominar 250 comes powered by a 248cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing a maximum of 25bhp and a peak torque of 23.5Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assisted clutch as well. The engine on the Domniar 250 has been borrowed from the KTM 250 Duke.

Apart from the engine, all other features and equipment on the Domniar 250 are identical to its elder sibling. It also features the same design and styling as the ones seen on Dominar 400. The suspension and braking hardware are the same as well.

The new Bajaj Dominar 250 is offered in a range of two colour options. This includes Canyon Red and Vine Black. According to the company, the Domniar 250 is a sports-tourer, that caters to riders, who are looking to upgrade from their 125cc or 150cc motorcycle in India.

Bajaj has increased the price of its flagship motorcycle brand Dominar in the Indian market. Despite the price increase, the price of the Domniar 400 is well within Rs 2.0 lakh mark. While The Domniar 250 receives a substantial hike of over Rs 4,000. Bajaj is yet to confirm the reason behind the price increase.
