Bajaj Dominar 400 & 250 Price Hike Announced Again: Here Is The New Prices List
Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, has announced a price hike on the Dominar 400 and the Dominar 250 motorcycles in the country. Both motorcycles receive consecutive price hike this month after the last price increase in September 2020.
The Dominar 400 receives a third price hike after its BS6 update earlier in the year. While its younger sibling, the Dominar 250's prices are increased for the second time since its launch in the Indian market.
The Bajaj Domniar 400 receives a price hike of Rs 1,500 and now retails at Rs 1,97,758 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The flagship motorcycle has received a similar price hike from the company in September 2020, as well.
On the other hand, the Domniar 250's prices are increased by Rs 1,625 and now retail at Rs 1,65,715 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle was launched earlier this year during the nation-wide lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic. The Dominar 250 received a price hike of Rs 4,090 in September 2020.
Bajaj Auto is yet to confirm the reason behind the consecutive price increase of its Dominar range of motorcycles in the Indian market. However, we expect it could be due to the continued supply chain disruptions and increasing manufacturing costs during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 is powered by a 373c single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit producing a maximum of 39.4bhp at 8000rpm and a peak torque of 35Nm at 7000rpm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assisted clutch.
Coming to the Dominar 250, it comes powered by a 248cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing a maximum of 25bhp and a peak torque of 23.5Nm. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-assisted clutch as well.
Most of the mechanical hardware and design elements such as suspension and headlamp are shared between both the motorcycles. Other features include LED lighting all around, a fully-digital instrument cluster, twin-barrel exhaust, single-piece handlebar, diamond-cut alloy wheels, 13-litre fuel tank with a secondary display on top, split seats and more.
Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and an adjustable mono-shock set up at the rear. Braking is done via a 320mm and 230mm discs at the front and rear, respectively; supported by dual-channel ABS.
Thoughts About The Bajaj Dominar 400 & 250 Price Hike
Bajaj has increased the price of its flagship motorcycle brand Dominar for the consecutive month in India. The company is yet to confirm the reason behind the price increase. However, the increase is only marginal and sales are expected to remain unaffected.
