However, the government has eased the lockdown and said that businesses can resume, but under certain rules and regulations.

Bajaj has announced that its service centers for the electric scooter sub-brand, Chetak, are now operational in Bengaluru and in Pune. The company has said that its service centers are following a strict protocol to ensure the safety of all people on the premises. Only those people are required at the plant whose services are needed, the rest of the staff will keep working from home till further notice.

Along with Bajaj, other manufacturers like Hero, KTM, Piaggio, Royal Enfield, TVS, Jawa, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Hero Electric and Okinawa have also begun operations.

In other Bajaj related news, Bajaj Auto recently launched the Platina 100 BS6 in the Indian market with minor changes. The commuter motorcycle is sold in two variants with prices starting at Rs 47,763, ex-showroom (Delhi). The two trims in which the motorcycle are available are the (KS) Kick-Start and the top-spec (ES) Electric-Start trim. The Bajaj Platina 100 ES retails at a starting price of Rs 55,546, ex-showroom (Delhi).

The commuter motorcycle now features a new tinted windscreen as compared to the colour-matched cowl on the BS4 model. The LED DRL is also placed closer to the headlamp making for a cleaner looking front fascia. Mechanically, the Platina 100 is powered by an air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel injected 102cc engine that produces 7.5bhp of power and 8.34Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a standard four-speed gearbox.

Bajaj also increased the prices of its entire Pulsar range in the Indian market. This includes the 125 Neon, the 150, the NS160, the 180F, the NS200, the RS200 and the 220F models. Prices for these have increased from anywhere between Rs 1000 to Rs 3500, depending on the model.
