2020 Bajaj Avenger BS6 Motorcycles Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 93,677
Bajaj Auto has launched the BS6 versions of its Avenger motorcycle in the Indian market. Both the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 and Cruise 220 have been updated to comply with the BS6 emission norms in the Indian market.
The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 is offered with a price tag of Rs 93,677; this is a price hike of Rs 12,000 compared to the previous model. The prices for the Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 has also increased by around Rs 11,000 and the motorcycle is now priced at Rs 1.16 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).
Both motorcycles feature little to no changes, apart from the updated engine. The 2020 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 BS6 continues to be powered by a 160cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine. It produces 14.8bhp and 13.7Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox.
The 2020 Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 BS6 is powered by a 220cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. This produces 18.7bhp and 17.5Nm of peak torque, mated to the same five-speed transmission.
Both motorcycles carry forward the same design, list of features and equipment as their previous BS4 versions. This includes a tall windscreen, large amounts of chrome and a digital instrument cluster. Both motorcycles come with a laid back cruiser riding position, with the long handlebars and the forward-set footpegs as well.
Both, the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 and Cruise 220 come with standard telescopic forks at the front and a dual-shock absorber set up at the rear. Braking is handled by disc and drum brakes at the front and rear, respectively; supported by a single-channel ABS as standard.
The Bajaj Avenger models, Street 160 and Cruise 220, are the latest models to be updated in the brand's product portfolio. The company recently also updated the entire ‘Pulsar range', consisting of the 150, 180F, NS160, NS200, 220F and the RS200.
Bajaj Auto also announced the discontinuation of Discover 110 and 125 models from its lineup. The Bajaj Discover range was a popular offering in the brand's commuter lineup, however, the models have been discontinued, with no plans of its revival anytime soon — here are the details.
