Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 BS-VI Models Begin Reaching Dealerships Across India
BS-VI versions of the Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 has started arriving at the company's authorized dealerships across the country. In fact, a Pune based dealer has started accepting bookings for the all new BS-VI version of the Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 for an amount of Rs 1,000. The dealer also said that the motorcycle will carry a premium of Rs 4,400 above the current model.
The all new Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 BS-VI mode however, comes with a slight drop in performance figures. The new 155cc BS-VI compliant engine produces 18.6bhp of power and 14.1Nm of torque, while the BS-IV compliant engines on the YZF R15 V3.0 produces 19.3bhp of power and 14.7Nm of torque.
The new BS-VI engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and features a slipper clutch. The engine also features Variable Valve Actuation that gives it a brisker throttle response, better efficiency, and a better top speed.
Motofumi Shitara, the Chairman at Yamaha Motor India, said that the motorcycle will offer the same ‘optimum excitement' with the new BS-VI compliant engine. He also said that the company worked really hard to keep any price hike within an acceptable limit, and were able to manage hikes to just 3 percent over the BS-IV models.
The all new Yamaha YZF R15 V3.0 arrives in three different colours - Racing Blue, Thunder Grey, and Darknight. The three motorcycles are priced at Rs 1.46 lakh, Rs 1.45 lakh, and Rs 1.47 lakh respectively. In addition, there is a limited edition Monster Energy MotoGP Edition for Rs 1.43 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom.
In related news, Yamaha has not revealed any details about the MT-15 receiving BS-VI upgrades. The MT-15 sells well for the company, so we expect to see the motorcycle with the upgrades at some point before the 1 April 2020 deadline.
Thoughts About The YZF R15 V3.0 BS-VI Models Reaching Dealers
Well, we didn't anything else to happen really. Yamaha gave the YZF R15 V3.0 an upgrade with the idea of selling the model. Buyers may not be very thrilled with the slight drop in performance figures, but we're sure the motorcycle is as refined as can be. Maybe Yamaha should have worked a slight weight loss on the new models, effectively keeping the power to weight ratios in place.
