Yamaha Ray ZR 125 And ZR 125 Street Rally Unveiled: Features 125cc BS6 Compliant Engine
Yamaha Motor India has just unveiled the all-new Ray ZR 125 and the Ray ZR 125 Street Rally scooter models. The new 125cc scooters will replace the current generation Ray ZR scooter models.
The current-generation Yamaha Ray ZR scooter models feature a 113cc single-cylinder engine that produces 7.2bhp of power and 8.1Nm of torque. Performance figures for the new 125cc engines stand at 8.2bhp of power and 9.7Nm of torque.
The new 125cc engines on the Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and Ray ZR 125 Street Rally scooter models are fuel-injected, and are BS-VI compliant.
Yamaha says that the new 125cc engines on the Ray ZR and the Ray ZR Street Rally are 16 per cent more fuel efficient (at 58kmpl). The engines were tested at per (WMTC) World Motorcycle Test Cycle standards that includes startup, acceleration, and deceleration.
The all new Yamaha Ray ZR 125 also features a quiet engine start system, and a stop/start system. The Street Rally also includes other features like a digital instrument cluster, and a wider, 110mm section rear tyre.
Both the new Yamaha Ray ZR125s feature a more muscular design and the Rally Street model arrives with a bunch of optional accessories including a front and rear crash guard.
Prices of the new Yamaha Ray ZR 125 and the Ray ZR 125 Rally Street have not yet been revealed, but we expect the scooters to be priced between Rs 85,000 and Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
In related news, Yamaha Motor India has just launched the 2020 Fascino 125 FI at a starting price of Rs 66,430. The new Yamaha Fascino will replace the current-generation scooter, and will be offered in two variants.
The all new Fascino features a 125cc 'Blue Core' single-cylinder engine, 12-inch alloy wheels, a multi-function key, and a side-stand cut-off switch among others. To know more about the Yamaha Fascino, click here.
Thoughts About The All New Yamaha Ray ZR 125 And Ray ZR 125 Rally Street
We think the new Ray ZR 125 and Ray ZR Rally Street share the same design language with the current-generation scooters. However, the engine sounds like it is really good. We're sure Yamaha have built us a beautiful scooter, and we cannot wait to test ride the new models.
