2020 Yamaha MT-15 BS-VI Unveiled

The 2020 Yamaha MT-15 BS-VI will continue to be powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, which also does duty on the popular YZF-R15 V3.0. It produces 18.3bhp and 14.1Nm of peak torque. This in comparison to the current BS4 model is a slight reduction in power figures. The engine will continue to be mated to the same six-speed gearbox.

Apart from the updated engine, all other mechanicals will remain identical to the current model on sale in the market. This includes telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by discs at either end, supported by a single-channel ABS system as standard.

Moving forward to the design aspect, the new Yamaha MT-15 BS6 has been showcased in a brand new 'Ice Fluo Vermillion' colour scheme. This new paint scheme will be added on to the current list of options available on the motorcycle at the time of launch.

The updated motorcycle will also continue to be offered with the same set of features and equipment as the current model. This includes side-stand engine cut-off, LED lighting all around, including the headlamps and taillights and a fully-digital instrument cluster; among others.

Thoughts On The Yamaha MT-15 BS-VI Model Unveil

The Yamaha MT-15 BS-VI was part of a multi-product showcase from the motorcycle brand in the Indian market. The 155cc BS6 engine on the MT-15 has already been introduced on the R15, which was recently launched in India. Once Yamaha introduces the MT-15 BS-VI in India, it will continue to rival the likes of the KTM Duke 125, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 and the Suzuki Gixxer 155.
