Yamaha FZ V3 Line-Up To Get More Power Soon — New BS-VI Engine Confirmed
Yamaha FZ V3 new model to launch soon. The new Yamaha FZ model will have more power and a BS-VI (BS6) engine.
The 2019 Yamaha FZ and FZ-S V3.0 models were launched in India at Rs 95,000 and Rs 97,000 ex-showroom (Delhi), respectively. The main highlight of the new Yamaha FZ models is the inclusion of a single-channel ABS. Now, a more powerful version of the Yamaha FZ V3 is in the works.
CarAndBike shares that the new FZ model will draw power from an all-new BS-VI-compliant engine. In the current format, the sporty commuter motorcycles come with a 149cc air-cooled fuel-injected single-cylinder engine which makes 13bhp and 12.8Nm of torque. This is paired to a five-speed transmission.
As of now, not much is known about the new Yamaha FZ model, but it is expected to be launched sometime by the end of 2019 (BS-VI norms become mandatory from April 2020). Almost all major four-wheeler and two-wheeler brands in India are busy making a shift from the current BS-IV engines to the more environment-friendly BS-VI units. Yamaha Motor India, being a leader in India's two-wheeler market, has also invested a lot in this regard.
Apart from the increase in power output, the upcoming Yamaha FZ model might not feature any visual changes. The current V3 models brought some cosmetic updates in the form of a full-LED headlamp, revamped body panels and a new exhaust design. Furthermore, compared to the Yamaha FZ V2.0, the V3.0 models get a single-bench setup.

Thoughts On The New Yamaha FZ Model
The Yamaha FZ was first introduced on the Indian market back in 2008 (as the FZ16). The original model was really sporty, but six years later, Yamaha toned it down a bit in the race for better fuel efficiency. We hope that the upcoming BS-VI-compliant Yamaha FZ model will bring back its long-lost charm.
