Yamaha FZ & FZ-S Motorcycles Recalled In India: Over 7,700 Units Affected
Yamaha Motorcycles India has announced a recall of two of its products in the market, the FZ Fi and the FZ-S Fi. Both motorcycles have been recalled over a possible issue of 'non-fitment of rear-side reflectors', according to Yamaha.
The brand has mentioned that all motorcycles manufactured from October 2019 have been affected by this issue. Yamaha has also stated that a total of 7,757 units of the two bikes are among the affected.
The statement released by Yamaha states it as a voluntary recall and is part of their commitment to the compliance of safety norms in the country. The company will replace the affected parts free of cost to the customers. Owners of the two motorcycles, the Yamaha FZ Fi and Yamaha FZ-S Fi will be contacted directly by their respective dealers.
Yamaha recently launched the BS-VI versions of the FZ and FZ-S motorcycles in India last month. Both motorcycles are among the first bikes from the brand to comply with the upcoming stringent emission regulations — here are more details.
The new Yamaha FZ & FZ-S BS-VI motorcycles are offered in a range of two brand new colour schemes; Darknight and Metallic Red for the FZ-S Fi and Metallic Black and Racing Blue for the FZ Fi. The Yamaha FZ-S Fi further comes with a choice of four standard paint schemes: Dark Matte Blue, Matte Black, Grey & Cyan Blue.
Both motorcycles, the Yamaha FZ and FZ-S are powered by the same 149cc single-cylinder BS-VI compliant engine. It produces 12bhp at 7250rpm and 13.6Nm of torque at 5500rpm, mated to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Both motorcycles also come with a host of features, this includes LED headlamps, LED taillights, single-channel ABS and an LCD display for the instrument cluster; among a host of others.
